  1. Baby it's cold outside...

...in good ol' Nebraska. It's zero degrees outside right now and our two furnaces only have got the shop heated to 59 degrees so far. We're located in an old neighborhood general store and the 12 foot ceilings, and full glass front make an attractive space but heating it in the winter is a...
  2. Snowing :)

Christmas is fine without snow. I'd love to be on a tropical beach right now and for the rest of the month instead of looking at this unrelenting white stuff, not to mention having to get it off the driveway. No use doing that right now though because it is supposed to blow like hell tonight and...
  3. Big Squeegee help

The first time I used it I got a lot of bubbles because I didn't hold it at the proper angle to the surface. Don't lay it flat and push.

  8. Becoming a Vegetarian...

Arlo, Here is a must read book for you: Food Matters by Mark Bittman. Bittman is a wonderful cook and food writer for the NY Times. He had health issues similar to yours and he corrected all of them by a change in diet...and he likes meat (as do!). He partially subscribes to a vegetarian diet...

I want to mess with using this on some interior wayfinding signage. What is the best way to cut the laminate?
  10. Global "Charter for Compassion" & a Letterhead project

It is way cool Doug and important - imagine the possibilites - a quote from the charter states: "compassion can break down political, dogmatic, ideological and religious boundaries". It is so easy for us to turn a blind eye to the suffering of the majority of humanity, and to ride the high...
  11. Food Bank sign destroyed

I think planting a landscape bed around it is a very good idea. Especially if you incorporate some thorny low growing shrubs around it, barberry works well around here as a detterent. This is a beautiful sign, I hope the repair goes smoothly.
  12. very strange...

No you're not Marlene! Being in my early fifties myself I've gotta say that I haven't felt this good in years. I bike in the summer and play basketball in the winter...and also try to play in the Caribbean every winter (that's a real tonic).
  13. Honest opinion on Big Squeegee

I don't print or laminate in-house. It is so much better than a mask and a little squeegee.
  14. Corner protectors for Coroplast?

Pat's link is helpful, but I think Checkers is spot-on about Coro.

It snowed here in eastern Nebraska last Saturday, we got 1.2 inches destinations in the western part of the state got 15"! The leaves are still on the trees and that was also our first hard frost! I hate it. Actually these bizarre weather swings are directly related to global warming. Some parts...
