thats because screen printers buy sheet vinyl which for what ever reason is thicker, but maybe this type of vinyl is not condusive for rolling up.

TCT sells kpmf carbon fibre product that actually is recommended for vehicles. I am not sure 3M's is designed for vehicle apps

I suppose I should ask if the measurement loss is mathmatical. In other words can you determine from prints just how out a print will be over a defined length? if so until you figure out why you could adjust the size to compensate
