  1. Can this be done on a FC8600

You can download and use cm3. I have both installed , I prefer cm3 because I'm used to it. Not sure if the options there in cm4, but I can check when I get home.
  2. Suggestion for my vinyl selection.

How old are you, 60? It's in the dictionary now ;) wanna - definition of wanna in English | Oxford Dictionaries You're going to want to use Cast. It's a bit more expensive, but it'll last longer, won't shrink, and the cost difference isn't too much. It's generally a better product - Our shops...
  3. Rapid Tac

We only ever wet apply mactac, or clear vinyl thats going on a window. Everything else has always been dry. The guy I work with (Who taught me how to vinyl) Sprays A LOT of windex for his wet apps. The 3M course I went to, and everyone I've ever spoken to says that's a huge No-no, that windex...
  4. Everything begins somewhere...

I'd recommend a latex 110, then. Latex prints have no smell, so they're good for stuff like wallpaper. HP Latex 110 Printer | HP® Canada The 110 is their "Home business" model. The prints are exactly the same as their high end model, it's just slower, and uses smaller ink carts. The 110...
  5. Everything begins somewhere...

It all depends... Whats your goal? Are you going to be selling these wallpapers to suppliers, locally, is it going to be a hobby, or something you do full time? you can buy a cheap, $7000 latex printer, and some cheap SAV wallpaper and produce professional results. It'd be good if you're doing...
  6. New HP L 25500 colour peculiarity question

The CMYK Values of the JPG and the Vector are different, so it's not an onyx issue. Cyan 306C has a Value of - 73,4,7,0. In your jpeg import, it has a value of - 100,0,0,0. Which will obviously make it much more blue. Every color in the jpg is off - 102C Yellow is just 100% pure yellow value...
  7. New HP L 25500 colour peculiarity question

Rendering intent is a little different than ICC profiles. Go to Job editor for your image, Turn profiles on... Click change profiles, Click Rendering intents, and make sure CMYK and vector are the same. That COULD be the problem, but unless you went fiddling with the intents, I don't think it...
  8. New HP L 25500 colour peculiarity question

Open both files up in onyx, Click color correction, tools, sample point, and see if the CMYK files in "Before" Match on both, and in "after" if profiles are turned on, match in both. I don't use corel, so I can't help you there. but I have a feeling whatever you're doing, is saving the CMYK...
  9. Suggestions Best way to hold PVC foam sheet to a wall?

Well, VHB should do the trick! I'm a pretty hefty guy, around 180 lbs. we had to take down some signs put up by a previous company and replace them - About a 12" circle, 3 pieces of VHB tape in stripes... I was hanging off of that sign, feet off of the floor for a good minute before it finally...
  10. Question Fc8000 E04010 Error

How big is your cutter, and how far apart are your cutter marks? You can trick it into cutting wider prints. Put your pinch wheels as far apart as they can be (Exceeding the width of the media) do a roll load, even if it is a sheet. Once it's done scanning the max distance your cutter can...
  11. Suggestions Best way to hold PVC foam sheet to a wall?

I second the VHB tape option. You're bound to tear some paint / a layer off with VHB though... But if its going up a year, it's probably your least destructive option. Foam sheets are pretty light, you could probably get by with just a Square frame of tape all around the sheet, no need for...
  12. Plastic shipping spacers for vinyl rolls

. Not really. I just don't believe this is the place to discuss it. If you want to continue this topic, feel free to open a new thread in the off topic forums (does the site even have off topic? If not I guess general would do) and I'll gladly join in, or take it up in message if you'd prefer...
  13. Plastic shipping spacers for vinyl rolls

I've found there's people who strongly agree with climate change, and people who strongly disagree. Odds of me changing your mind about it, are about as good as you changing mine. So let's just agree to disagree, and leave it at that... This Is a sign forum after all, not a politics or...
  14. Plastic shipping spacers for vinyl rolls

I had a feeling you were one of "Those" ;) Can you prove that we're not responsible for climate change? EVERY country except 2 signed the paris accord, because EVERY scientist, including US scientists have evidence of global warming. Theres a ton of information out there, I could spend hours...
  15. Plastic shipping spacers for vinyl rolls

This is the kind of thinking that leads to the planet becoming the way it is. Only ignorant, uneducated people would willingly destroy the place they live in. I guess you could always believe Global warming is something that China made up though... In that case, carry on, no arguing with that logic.
  16. zippy cutters

Blades are cheap. I use a double edge razer (Kind of the same blade) And paid like $10 for a 100 pack. How is the snitty on cutting backing paper? I always presumed the plastic was too thick, so I havent tried it. Ours is just used on our laminator, to ensure people don't cut into the rollers...
  17. Question install cut vinyl on elevator door

I don't think you'll find the answer you're looking for. Every elevator is different... There could be enough clearance, or there could not be. I'd say 90% of the time there should be... I've seen paper signs, even cardboard signs taped to them and work. Never vinyl.. but vinyl should also work...
  18. Question Page Eject On Latex 110

I was having the same issue. I've bee busy and haven't got to play around with the 110 much... I just presumed it was flexi. I'm used to onyx... And while flexi does have some upsides, I for the most part hate it. It feels unpolished. Though it may just be because it's different than what I'm...
  19. looking for a new cutter either a summa or a graphtech

I have a graphtec at work and at home. If I had the extra cash... I think I'd go with a summa. Right now I don't do enough decals to justify roll to roll. But it seems like a neat feature to have. Most of our decals that we sell are small.. labels for airplanes and stuff, so like 1" x 3"/4/6...
  20. Need Help Considering a CNC Router

I wouldn't put a router 40 ft from a printer. We have a multicam cnc at work. It has two huge exhaust fans, and dust still gets everywhere. And when cutting thought aluminum there's usually a big dust/mist cloud. It's also loud - really loud. It's such a high rpm drilling into metal / wood...
