i think your printing in Bi-direction,and not Uni-direction. or vise versa....... try changing your print mode in PM. here are the Print Mode settings..........

I figured that was a solenoid to release the head from the docking station,,nothing in that general area on mine goes down over that cut strip.

make sure the plotter is set to run in HP and not GL mode,,,Flexi only read HP mode this can be found in the plotter menu or in the plotter controller software .

Try this in Edit /Preferences

Not sure what Flexi starter can do,,but you need to vectorize it by hand tracing within the program or auto trace it and clean it up by doing some node editing to get clean lines.....you should do research before buying a set up,so you know what it can do............................or you can...
