  1. Manual hole punch/PVC?

Roper-Whitney also has these neato bases for their punches- so that you can fabricate your own jigs to aid production- I have only been able to buy them from R-W and they are kinda expensive (like their punches) but worth it (like their punches). I also have some of the cheepo punches and...
  2. Roland Color System in Flexi

I have the Flexi swatch tables broken out into DG, DK, DP, PR and ST (Dark, Strong, etc) tables so you don't have to sort thru an endless table to find what you want. I would post them if there is interest and I knew how to do it- Fred would help probably?
  3. Manual hole punch/PVC?

You really need to invest (for the future) in a set of these hand held punches- Harbor Freight has them cheap (plenty good enough for light duty stuff). Gene
  4. How much money do people make in this business?

I think a good average for a sign shop owner would be $175k before taxes. I think some of the people on this board are being modest.
  5. Mystery PMS Color

Fred- I ran 180-2c in the pantone search from bayshorecreations and I get cannot find number entered with this: # PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM ®: Numbered colors consist of three or four digits followed by a substrate extension of either a C, an M or a U. The substrate letter must be entered...
  6. Caveat Emptor: (Thinking of buy Wasatch Softrip?)

I might as well add my dissatisfaction with Wasatch support. I liked the program with my SP300 but could not get a good print on my VP540- they stalled me all winter till my contract ran out and will no longer talk to me- even about the problem we were having. The tech I worked with...
  7. Mirrored bitmaps- workaround?

I often mirror photos in 7.6v2 to show the layout on the other side and when you paper print- the bitmap is not reversed- obviously the mirrored image is saved as the original and needs to be 'embedded' by itself. Copying and pasting back doesn't work. Thanks Gene
  8. Fletcher 3100 cutter value

Great cutter- never tried alum or dibond as I have a panel saw- but pretty much anything else up to .25 inch. I paid about that or a little less and have never regretted it. Edit to say: dubious about alum or dibond
  9. Help.. My language got changed ??

The quality of College Freshmen is deteriorating, I am afraid.
  10. Praise for Summa USA

Two T-750s here- they and Summa tech rock- I have a Gerber enV 350 that cost more than both Summas together that is a burr under my saddle.
  11. I hate flexi

That's the spirit- like I tell the girls- it is almost always operator error.
  12. Eye one design lt profiling software

I don't think that you can profile a printer with this version- isn't it about $130? I think I paid $1600 for a i1 pro and then you still need profilemaker.
  13. Speed control

Supposed to be a pict perhaps?
  14. very large write on erase magnetic board prob

I am doing a much smaller dry erase/magnet board for our own use and I am using good old magnetic sheeting- I will laminate for dry eraseability and glue to an existing panel. Seems to work fine.
  15. Pet peeves anyone?

Phone numbers with the area code in parentheses- makes me grind my teeth.
  16. Flexi mirror function

All three suggestions work fine- thanks to all. Gene
  17. Flexi mirror function

Mirrors horizontally fine. How do you do a vertical mirror and avoid getting it slightly 'tipped'? Cannot think of a term to explain this- I want to be sure of a 'molecule perfect' vertical mirror to say it differently. Thanks Gene
  18. Large Plastic Rivets?

For the record Matt- they should not have been covered- I forgot to tell my installer to cut around them.
  19. What software

We do all of our designing in FlexiPro 7.6 and use the Roland VersaWorks rip to print- it has actually grown into a pretty good rip program and for the price (comes with the printer) should be considered. Not sure what level of flexi you have now but it may still do the job for you.
  20. Laminating Long Runs... Problems...

I at first thought this was a question about how to feed the vinyl straight into the laminator- but it now sounds like a laminator problem. This is my solution to feeding the vinyl- the table is 11 x 5 ft and covered with a cutting mat. I printed a series of alternating red and black stripes...
