  1. Need font fast!

I know I know.... I just made some changes. I slimmed down the "motorsports". I thickened the outlines on "team" I also ditched their screwy custom font. They don't have an original of it, some other sign shop does. So they said to use a different font and gave me the name of it...
  2. Need font fast!

Okay, I just re-drew the stupid thing. Took me about 15 minutes, and I said that's all I'll do for free. I wouldn't even be doing that much if I didn't really want their business. Does it look sorta alright? Kinda close???
  3. Need font fast!

Thanks Shovelhead and Mike Paul, I think I agree. I actually was just sitting and studying it and figured out the staccato one, and I sure thought that one looked like Serpentine, but for some reason it looked different. I'm going to try it out. If nothing else, looks like I'll be tracing the...
  4. Need font fast!

Okay, I can't seem to get whatthefont to help me out, so I hope you guys can help me. I have a customer that needs a banner made and delivered TODAY. And when they sent over the artwork, it wasn't much better than a freaking thumbnail! Now I am unable to get ahold of their marketing guy and I...

  6. Serious cutting issues with Graphtec!

I have a SW rebranded Graphtec. It says Graphtec though, comes with a Graphtec manual, and is apparently under a Graphtec warranty. Okay, so when it's cutting something, when it jumps from one cut to go make another cut, the blade actually travels across the image. The machine doesn't bring...
  7. Serious cutting issues with Graphtec!

Yeah, I've slowed it down. It still drags. The material doesn't really lift much, the blade just drags along as it is.....
  8. Serious cutting issues with Graphtec!

Okay, I'm having some issues with my Graphtec. I'll try to explain my problem the best way I can. First off, it's a 6 month old FC700-100. I'm using it to cut out digital prints. Secondly, the issue is that I'm cutting some really thick stuff with it. Like 14mil, 18mil and even 22mil...
  9. Custom color pallette with Flexi?

Okay, first off I'm using Flexisign Pro 8.0V2 Secondly, I'm trying to create a custom pallette. I use 2 pallette's now, the default one and the Pantone coated to uncoated. I want a third one for doing my motorcycle graphics (so I can have my custom colors always on hand). It only is going to...
  10. Calvin being chased by an RC Airplane

Man, I got a good laugh reading this thread. Yes, for those of you who don't remember, Unique owns a car lot. And you know what? Selling those little Calvin stickers is illegal. And I'm not even the SLIGHT bit interested in selling them or anything copyrighted, and I simply haven't had to in...
  11. Cut-Through Plotter? from a Noob

First off... what's the XX part? I've never seen that before on a Graphtec...? Secondly... how do you enable this option then? I think everyone would like to know. :thankyou:
  12. Cut-Through Plotter? from a Noob

Ya' talking about me? Want to come over and have a cup of coffee while I show you how to die-cut a set of triple laminated, 28mil motorcyle graphics? How about Friday morning? :Coffee:
  13. First set of flames !!!!

Nice... I'm famous now! hehehehe Here's a pic to show my appreciation of the perceived acceptance. Questo è il padrone di fiamma, firmando fuori
  14. Cut-Through Plotter? from a Noob

I don't feel like risking ruining my plotter by running magnetic material through it.... however. I've cut through 30mil material, DIE CUT style before. Just takes maximum pressure (for me, 600 grams) and about 7-8 passes. Would I recommend it? No. Does it look perfect? No (scores the surface...
  15. Cut-Through Plotter? from a Noob

He never said it was for a client.... atleast from what I read. I think everyone just assumed it. Okay bud, I'll give you the advice you want. You want to buy a Graphtec flatbed plotter. That will die-cut your decals nicely. They are a mere $14,500. Or you can go with a complete label...

  17. 12 Inch Vinyl?

oh boy... you got a lot to learn. Oh well. Everyone does at one point in time. Oracal 651, number one selling vinyl in america. Oracal is the brand (technically Orafol), 651 is the product name. It's a okay quality intermediate vinyl that's great as a general purpose material. 15" material...
  18. 12 Inch Vinyl?

Call Pacific Coast Sign Supply. I order split rolls from them every couple weeks. All of my digital print vinyl and laminate, and a fair portion of my Oracal cast vinyl is all cut down to my preffered size by these guys. Kudo's to them for doing it after hours for me last Friday too. THANK YOU...
  19. Ideas for a plotter

Actually, I think I tried it once. Changed my mind though. Hey bud, if you ever log back on. Grow some kahooni's and realize that no one likes competition and not many like offering free advice to newbies, so you're not always gonna get warm and fuzzy advice. Oh yeah, and the sign trade is an...
  20. Racing Fonts

aaahhh... my personal favorite (I almost hate revealing it's name)... Compacta. Big and bold numbers, and I like to throw a 10% slant on them to make them even more "racey" looking.
