I have seen this before on at least 2 ocaasions... I don't mean to question you but did you by accident cross the 2 flat cables when changing heads? If this happened the current head is bad, it will pop the head every time... Again I am not insinuating anything, just trying to help... I work on...
Motoh actually treats their customers very well... You must first go thru the troubleshooting process with whomever you bought the printer from... A reputable dealer will have a Mutoh Trained staff of techs who can walk you very quickly thru this and order on-site service if needed for your...
Based on the photo at the top of this thread you need new heads... I see no way around that... Replacing the heads and not the dampers is sort of like changing your oil and not the oil filter, actually it's exactly like that... The good advise was to replace your heads and move on, you can beat...
Just good business sense to replace the dampers when changing the heads... They are cheap and while you got the heads off it just makes sense to go ahead and put clean dampers in front of the heads to possibly avoid any further interuptions in printing... Just my opinion, I just don't like doing...

Not Hard At All
Pay attention to how you take it apart... Put it back together the same way... There are documents out there that tell you how to align the heads... Remeber to note the head ranks, you will need them at the end of the process... It is about an hour long job then maybe another...
I 2nd what randy says... 540x720 is the lowest but you must remeber that a lower res it creates larger droplets... Not much difference in the amount of ink used....
