  1. Worst sign I've seen in a while

speaking of racism.. um.. I mean nationalism... well, ok, lets just say speaking of generalizations... anyone else think it's funny that signmeup calls that stuff "hockeytape"? ....I've been all over America & we call it electrical tape.. and I was a huge Chicago Blackhawks fan growing up in...
  2. A time before Signs

I left Oregon for Hawaii in 1984. I had been a tree planter, working with (one of) the largest owner operated co-op's at that time, bidding on Forest Service contracts. Fun but very very hard work. I started studying architectural drafting, which consumed the next 4 or 5 years of school &...

  5. Worst sign I've seen in a while

ummmm... what??? that label gets slapped on the culturally diverse? really? not slapped on those in judgment of that which doesn't fit.. but slapped on that which doesn't fit?? well that ain't what racism means over here well, of course.. nobody is exempt! People all already know that...
  6. Worst sign I've seen in a while

Obviously wants badly to appear like one of the worst racists to ever post on this forum, not to mention the churlish pride & self satisfaction on display when offering inflammatory racist remarks... but that aside, I have to agree that here, he is merely stating an accurate generalization...
  7. breaking bits?

I didn't even think my multicam was a suitable tool for over 3/8" aluminum, so I wonder if you are just taking on too much. If 1/8" per pass breaks 'em, did you try 1/16" yet? does it break on the first pass? Did you try a double flute?
  8. Attachement Method vs. Sign Weight vs. Environment

I would expect to see it failing faster... but that's what they aske for, so hopefully that is what they were told to expect. i did it, and i've already had to do some repairs
  13. Thanks Insignia!

I was told that the risk of bad adhesion print side down would mostly apply to heavy coverage. Mine were medium coverage, and mostly lighter colors, and no ink at all bleeding off edges... and pretty empty corners too.. so between Mike's personal experiences, and this particular job not falling...
  14. Increase your portfolio

so, first of all I want to say again that you have a ton of great looking signs.. I just looked at at least 100 and maybe 200 samples of your work, which I enjoyed seeing. Regarding the opportunity to customize a portfolio page, I have some questions or suggestions. With that much work behind...
  15. Fresh Fruits and Veggies

nice work.. the sign layouts & the presentation!
  16. Really getting pi$$ed off now.

if the roller "checks out" and then wobbles anyway... ...can you put the top roller in the bottom rollers place? If you could, it seems that it would wobble... taking the suspicion off the roller, & onto the driving force that turns these things crookedly
  17. I'm running this ad in the World Series Program

thanks for the reply Flame.. I was curious what your opinion was. I never even thought much about the design because the whole concept of investing on putting that ad n that program... well, I couldn't get past that, even before looking into what kind of sign shop this was for. Yeah, that...
  18. I'm running this ad in the World Series Program

    ...do you got one?
  19. Thanks Insignia!

I was researching Static Cling decals last week. I had printed a few on my Mimaki, spoke to my supplier on various media prices, & also checked some big wholesale decal company I'd dealt with before. I was trying to get a quote ready for an important client, who also happened to have pretty...
