But what about these high performance calendered vinyls such as Oracal 3551 RA(i guess thats the only one)
I remember the crack and peel thread...it really isn't worth screwing a customer...but it is right there in the featured wrap vinyls section of the cowboy magazine
We're talking a truck...
agreed, you're almost there!
Think of how great it will feel when you buy that monster steak to celebrate you fixing a machine that would have cost you thousands if you called a tech:clapping:
if you are anything like me you can celebrate once a week when you have to fix it lol
its probably not recommended but I hook the syringe...minus the needle into the bottom of the damper and pull gently through it...
officially you should suck from the line connected to the damper without the needle.
I don't know where you get your syringe or what size it is...but I get mine...
you could pop a cleaning cartridge into the yellow spot and then suck it through with the syringe...should be easy enough to remove the back cover...or just suck and suck with one line and then if no solution comes through try the other one...whats a little ink anyway
get some supplies from...
are the ink lines black? I haven't worked on one of these but it seems like you could see which line has yellow in it...maybe take off the back cover and follow it back to the carts if its that bad
hook your syringe to one of the two lines and pull see what color you get
you want a cold laminator...we are pondering the 54'' $2000 one on ebay...anyone else have one of these cheapies?
You get a hot laminator people will just want you to laminate their posters and newspaper articles and crap...you load the hot lam rolls and wait for them to heat up and they will...
"This morning I am going to remove the yellow damper and take a closer look because it does not appear to be full of ink."
seems like a first step
update?
The head should be docked with the capping station you are trying to pull the ink from the line through the dampers through the printhead through the capping station and into your syringe
This got our RS-640 going when magenta dropped...
There are more intense ways of getting it back but this...
Try pulling from the line that comes out of the capping station. That will let you know if its a bad seal or clogged or whatever... you should get ink into your syringe without much effort
Just got an email saying that Roland owners can get a 60 day trial of "keen" an e-commerce service...anyone know of this?
Sounds like an easy way for an otherwise offline shop to get online quick and easy...
In the end it is probably better just to do it right and custom.
$99 and 3% a month...
Used an image-edge at my previous employer...its pretty good and has the option of a 1/4'' offset cut...but its really hard to keep the segments straight...straight enough I suppose..
I actually taped 2 sections together to keep em straight...boss got upset.
Yeah Bobby gives you hundreds of dollars worth of advice for free...even shoots himself in the foot telling you to buy a part or something from another supplier instead of him if it is what you (should) get...
An example...he told me to find another roland dealer to get a roland oem damper...
So everything has been going fine...nothing is new
Problem is... The grommets don't make a solid connection on the reinforced corners of the banners...
we use hem tape so its like 4 banners thick, it won't cut all the way through and doesn't make a great connection to the bottom grommet...it...
