This customer who buys decals from me maybe once a year sent me an email and I see a link to his web site so I go check it out and apparently he sells auto dealership decals.

Thats basically what I did except I printed reverse on clear vinyl...they backed it up with white after the clear had been applied. If it were my job I would have printed it forward on clear and laminated it, then applied, but this is the way he wanted it.
I generally dont print in high speed and find that 4 pass speeds up the process. To print in 8 pass low speed will take so long. maybe it's time to crank it to high speed.
I recently printed a digital sign face for another sign shop. The print was 50" x 20' and basically in the shape of a triangle. He wanted it printed reverse to put on the back of clear plexi, and then back it up with a diffuser vinyl

On these particular prints I was using a calendered conform (automark) and had my heat at 45 - 40...In fact the last time I saw streaking like this was in a 13oz banner at those settings.
