I just recommended yesterday that a gerber edge user go to Ebay and purchase an ESR meter that tests for the normal failure mode for electrolytics. $55 & you can text all your caps in circuit. unplug & wait 15 minutes before you start texting. Of course

I will, say, though, the 1980’s/1990’s vintage electronics that Gerber used are resiliant as hell. Much like my Gerber plotters & Edge’s the biggest problems besides caps is poor connections at plug ins. They held up much better to surges than most other equipment
