Another ink price increase for Mimaki inks now. 6% up. They also are changing some of their shipping from their warehouses, if you get something drop shipped from them it'll be $150 if the order in under $2600. Apparently they are getting tooo many drop ships from their warehouses and it's...
Still looking for a layout solution. I've been setting up a sheet of 56 stickers to print and cut and it takes about 30-40mins just to setup the layout. Every time I go to step anything out it takes 5-10mins for it to process. This is very unproductive and I can't see anyone doing this daily. I...
I looked through my machine setting and there is nothing for inks except white and clear for MAPS which doesn't have anything to do with what you're trying to get. I don't remember my tech doing anything special for ink coverage, just the regular print alignments.
Is it that you are trying to...
Good luck. Right now it just seems Onlyx only has a test driver available for the UCJV330.
I'm in the same boat and wanted to use Onyx with my UCJV330 but there are no profiles available as of yet. Unless you make your own media profiles, you will probably be stuck using Rasterlink for now...
How do you run a no print pass?
I know on flatbeds it's an option but the roll machines don't have that feature although I wish they would put something like that in an update.
I haven't had any complaints. I use 45/45% on single layers. If I do a slightly raised print with it I use 40/40% on 2 layers.. It was also due to the media backing paper as well I think. Since I started using Substance matte vinyl I have not had any sticking issues.
One thing I did notice about pull back printing is that the gloss doesn't lay down the same was as doing gloss in a single pass.
I did these tops with a build of color/white and then pull back to add gloss, the difference is noticeable and I'm not sure if it's due to the elevated print or...
I don't mind keeping the door on because the new models have a light inside.
I actually got a pullback to work perfectly today....has never happened. Maybe just cause I'm using a different material than I normally have, but either way I'm happy to have it work without any issues. (for now)
(I...
I paused and flipped them and it cancelled my job. haha...I still have my cover on my machine so I'll have to take off the safety switches so I can try that.
I'd utilize this more if it was easier to do, but I just don't seem to have much luck with pullback prints on my machine for some reason I...
Good to know that some of those cutting issues are now resolved. I'm still going to wait, hoping there will be an update to support the UCJV330 like they had told me when I went to buy 22.5, guess integrating that machine didn't go as planned.
Seems like their trying to just draw people in by being outrageous, I don't think there's any need to drop exploitatives into social media posts. Next they'll be sponsoring TikTok or IRL streamers to promote them.
I might have to try that, maybe just pause the print and flip them over. Just seems silly to not have the option to have them down to me. I actually emailed Mimaki support on suggesting a firmware change to do that for the rollers cause I think it would be really helpful to lots of folks.
You sound like me. Most of my work is for cannabis brands and most are not nearly as picky as I am when it comes to the prints I do for them. I bought my UCJV because I was losing customers to others who had a UV and could do the spot gloss or raised prints. I'll never get those people back but...
As printers I think most are very picky on things the average customer won't pick up on or care about most times. I'm also wondering the hardness of Roland clear ink. I don't know what the LUS numbers mean for mimaki but I know I can choose from LUS 170, 175 or 200 for my 330 machine, and the...
I only have one print from a Roland with gloss and I've done the same print here and it looks fine. Actually I found my print to be sharper feeling than the Roland, where the Roland felt like it was almost rounded. I'm not sure if it's how their software handles the lay down of the gloss so I...
Definitely use a 60 degree blade for through cuts. I'd say you're pressure for them is too high as well. I cut similar thickness with a 60 degree and only use around 32 for the pressure. Make sure you have your blade out far enough but not too far or else it'll cause some cutting quality issues...
I should've put in the things I personally don't like about it. I don't like the head wiper system. It's a roll of impregnated material and I've been running since July (not heavy usage) and I've replaced this 3x now. So it seems one last for about a month and they are $50 per cartridge. I'm not...
