  1. Teflon

Perfluorooctanic acid (PFOA) is used to make Teflon for nonstick cookware and is linked to coatings on raincoats and take-out food containers. PFOA is classified by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a persistent chemical and a "potential" carcinogen. As previously mentioned, the...
  2. Teflon

I must say, that was my first trip to "snopes". I did a search for teflon...teflon cookware......nuttin. So my first question to you would be, where did you get your information? I'm not going to argue with you, but I will be leaning more towards things I've read on the fda website, along...
  3. Paint Lexan?

the panel you are replacing was clear in the beginning. I'm assuming you are using the white material again?
  4. Teflon

Thanks for the tip on cookware. As for being paranoid.....one of my favorite saying is, "What dosen't kill you, only makes you stronger". Well.....thats all well and good for me, but not for my kids. Another one of my "paranoia's" is standing too close to the microwave while in use...
  5. Teflon

About a year ago I was having a conversation with a good friend of mine, whos mother is in a nursing home with Alzheimers. He was telling me about the conversation he had with her doctor (Alzheimer specialist). He believes there is a strong link between the non-stick cookware and this...

  9. alumalite

    Love the sign Gino....thanks. :thumb:
  10. alumalite

Now you have me curious Gino. Do you feel a plain piece of alumalite looks unfinished / bad? Typically for wall signs (this is going on a corrugated steel bldg), I would make a pan face out of regular aluminum (thickness depending on size of sign). Being this is over my 10' brake...
  11. alumalite

Thanks everyone. I think I like that "black border" look. It gives that "stand-off" the building look. Do you think I should be charging extra for that??? :ROFLMAO:
  12. online prices / digital pricing

I'm 100% with Pat on this one. If anything, I would post prices of a couple generic products as a teaser.

  14. The open discussion of pricing

Well hold on a minute, while I remove my foot from my mouth. Now that I read the entire thread, I see I wasn't the only member who didn't realize the change Fred had made. Good for you Fred. And Brian.....you have a great day also.
  15. The open discussion of pricing

When did Fred put that sticky on the new member "rules & guidelines"? (no pricing talk in the open forum) Pricing talks happen daily in the open forum. The thread may not be in the "Pricing" forum (premium), but rather in the "Gereral Chit Chat"....nonetherless which is on the F'WWW...
  16. alumalite

doing a 5x12 sign using alumalite (the corrugated plastic core). I was wondering if you have to cap the edges? Does it delaminate if you don't? Should I be concerned with getting water in the core, then freezing?? As I write this, I'm wondering which way the open core / flutes run..... I...
  17. The open discussion of pricing

I just ran into this thread........and I'm not going to get into any lenghty discussions, but I do have one question for you Fred. Did your pricing discussion with your buddy Gil, take place in front of the guy wanteing his semi doors lettered? (didn't think so) Great story, but its not...
