Bad idea, bad business, and illegal.
  2. Suggestions for retractable banner stand material?

We use GF Poly for solvent ink jet applications. It's by Magic Display and Film. I think Feller's has it. Gloss white (you may require matte) 36"x20 foot rolls. Don't know the cost.
  3. SignCraft magazine is letting me down

Yeah, seems to be stepping all over some copyrights.
  4. 2008 Boxster S template

Wow! I covet that car. My buddy has one and let's me drive it when I'm in California with him. Sorry no help on the template.
  5. Year end inventory question

What are they after? It seems that inventory-ing is a specific requirement by statute set out in the IRS guidelines. No?
  6. Year end inventory question

Every year we inventory all materials. ie: substrates, vinyl rolls, application tapes, etc. All of this, of course in compliance with IRS and other taxing bodies requirements. This year we're desirous of streamlining the process, making it simpler. Would anyone care to offer how they go about...
  7. Feels like I'm falling into it.

Yeah, things get crowded in a hurry don't they? With several programs open and all the little menus like in Photoshop, etc. Probably could do with a third monitor.
  8. Feels like I'm falling into it.

I run a dual monitor setup for layout/design. Just replaced a 19" monitor with a 24". Somehow it feels like I'm being swallowed whole by it. Love it. Samsung $150 at Costco. What about others? What is your setup?

Quill guy here too. Circa 1970. Welcome aboard, Glenn
  10. Averege $/hr for wrapper in the US

Knock it off. Only I know what I'm paying. My guy is extremely precise and efficient. (a rare combo) A question was asked on this forum (a rather sensitive one) and I was among the first to answer. Getting called bullsh*t is not what I expected. Go ahead and hire your 12 dollar guy...
  11. Averege $/hr for wrapper in the US

Depends on the cost of living in the area. In my area somewhere between 20 and 25 if he's an employee. If he's a free-lancer, hired to do the job, I'd pay him a fee, not hourly.
  12. Roland Unreliable and Expensive

Wow! Really sorry to hear that. We've had nothing but excellent printing and excellent service (when needed). Our machine is old now, so yesterday I went to look at new equipment, mainly the VSi. But alas, they still don't have one on the floor. (the dealer)
  13. $15 bucks.......................... wha....................

People, people, people. Some jobs pay more than others, agreed? Did you ever stop to ask yourself why? What dictates how much any given job pays? Try this one on. Supply and demand. There are far fewer people qualified in neuro surgery, than there are people who can flip burgers. There are far...
  14. $15 bucks.......................... wha....................

Regarding jobs being shipped overseas, etc. consider this. No company exists in a vacuum. If Addidas decides to "take the high road" and only produce their shoes here in America with American labor, then so be it. But....their shoes will ultimately sit on a shelf (for sale) next to the Nike...
  15. Vinyl source in pacific n.w.

Fellers has a Portland warehouse. Should be same day shipping.
  16. New Roland VSi....anyone have one yet?

    No body running a VSi?
  17. New Roland VSi....anyone have one yet?

We're thinking of upgrading printers before year's end. (think tax advantages) Currently running an SP-540v which is about 7 years old. Love it, its been a workhorse, but would like the expanded capabilities of the VSi. Anyone have one? Comments?
  18. Scanner recommendation?

Ok, ok, but my fundamental question is, is there any significant difference in spending more for a flat bed scanner, for our needs? (as outlined in my first post)
  19. Scanner recommendation?

I think it's just a straight scan to vector. ie: If I select "scan to vector" it will scan the one color logo (or whatever) and pop up a vector in my software. But....my basic question is, is there a lot of difference in flat bed scanners? Should I pay $150 or $350?
