  1. Versaworks update causes problem.

Launched VW this morning and got their notice of update. I clicked on install. During the download Malwarebytes pops up and says it has quarrantined a malicious virus from this download. Now VW won't launch stating "some application files are missing to start the program". "Please re-install the...
  2. There must be some serious markup in sign materials!

Yeah, I'm batting 1 for 3 with this city. Probably the only reason we won the graphics bid for the busses business was that we were local and had no travel expenses. (the City only had one to two busses per week available) The out-of-town bidders would have had too much travel back and forth 28...
  3. There must be some serious markup in sign materials!

Quick story. Just this week the winning bid was announced for a job we had bid on. It was a large quantity of signs for the municipality in which I live. We had previously been the winning bidder on another project three months ago for this same municipality. Graphics on 28 busses. Well, you...
  4. PhotoShop is being "dumb" again. Or is it me, duh.

Thanks Fred! That was it! I don't know why I didn't zoom tight and inspect the area. Brain **** I guess.
  5. PhotoShop is being "dumb" again. Or is it me, duh.

The "trim" command won't work today. I'm working with a flattened image. When I ask it to trim (in this case white pixels along top and right edge) it doesn't do anything. What am I missing here? First time I've seen this. Any ideas? Oh, it's CS5 if that matters.
  6. Thoughts on this one...

I love it! Especially the radial gradient, center to edge. The only "negative" thing that popped out to me was the use of the "scales of justice". Maybe it's different in your area, but around here they imply the practice of law, not taxes or bookkeeping. But it may be appropriate if they are...
  7. Summa D75 R cutter

We have the S75. Could not be happier. Well built and highly accurate. Purchased six months ago. Doubt very much if anything Summa makes is a POS. World-wide reputation for accuracy and speed. Great machine.
  8. removing molding and emblems from a vehicle, best way?

One way to do it is to get some 120 pound fishing line. Cut a short length 24 to 30 inches and tie each end to some sort of "handle". (can be anything, chunk of wood, etc) Then begin "sawing" back and forth behind the emblem. The remaining glue can be removed with Rapid Remover or similar.
  9. Grrrr. Customers buying cheapy camouflage vinyl off the web, looking for someone to..

Website? Huh? This thread is about customers looking for someone (a signshop) to wrap their vehicle with cheapy vinyl they bought somewhere. We get this fairly often, do you?
  10. Grrrr. Customers buying cheapy camouflage vinyl off the web, looking for someone to..

wrap their vehicle. This last one who just left minutes ago showed us the vinyl which she had folded up (no, not rolled up) and ask us for a quote to wrap her Chev. truck. The stuff didn't even look like it was laminated. WTF?
  11. Still in the carton, 65 brand new light boxes for sale.

I have a quantity of 13.5"x18.5" light boxes for sale. I would prefer to sell them all to a single buyer. They are suitable for use as a tracing device, or can be used as an inside display. They have a single light inside, clear plexi panel ans well as the white translucent plexi light...
  12. Calling all PhotoShop experts.

That did it! Hurray! Thanks a ton all who helped me. Owe you one.
  13. Calling all PhotoShop experts.

This is pretty maddening. Can't change channel or image mode. Most items are greyed out/not available. Weird, huh?
  14. Calling all PhotoShop experts.

In the image/mode menu, everything is greyed out except the bitmap and grey scale options. Can't go to RGB or CMYK.
  15. Calling all PhotoShop experts.

I don't know how to do that.
  16. Calling all PhotoShop experts.

That program's EULA's state that it's program's use is only for "private, non-commercial use". We are a commercial business.
  17. Calling all PhotoShop experts.

I don't know about infraview. Is that in the Creative Suites?
  18. Calling all PhotoShop experts.

Can't figure this one out. I'm using CS5. Client has sent me a large bitmap file, 11"x17" at 800 dpi. After opening it in PS, I find that I can't do anything with it. When I select a tool and mouse over the image, I get a circle/slash icon. I can't even create a duplicate layer. Tried...
  19. Can you help me?

Ginger, can't you simply print sub-limations? If the shirts are 50/50 cotton/poly and light in color?
  20. good printer / cutter questions

Roland is a good machine. (we have one) But please know that there are many manufacturers out there. If you're buying used, as it sounds you are, condition of the printer is paramount. How much time is left on the print heads surely is a factor. (they can run 1000 bucks each) Six head machine...
