your a genius!!!! Then all I would have to do is cut them up by hand.
Labour intensive but I dont want to lose the customer.
Thanks for the idea!!:cool1:
double strike with a bleed is a problem. Lots of ink. I dont know how long you waited before cutting the graphic but I know with my Mimaki I would have probably waited at least 2 or 3 days and maybe even longer if it were black. The solvent attacks the vinyl and starts shrinking. I suppose a...
I have a customer that orders reflective yellow decals from me that are used for utility boxes in different minuicipalities across the province. They order 0-9 x 200 at a time. It's a really nice order and I run them on the edge using 3m vehicle grade vinyl.
Now it seems one of the muni's...
I know about the bunching dilemma. It is caused primarily by stretching the banner tape as it goes down. Gently tap it down along the length then use a squeegee to adhere it.
Like I said, I would have seen this massive scratch as the second banner started printing, so I am convinced it happened somewhere in the windup, but heck If I can figure it out. I am almost 100% convinced it is the material.
I can see areas as it prints that have markings and even though the...
That was the first thing I did and nada. Although I have seen on previous banners some ink doing that.
I now run the additional fan in front to dry the banner as much as possible before rolling up.
As much as I like the product for printability, I am not sure I would buy it again. I...
agree!!! I let that one dry for 2 days before it was unrolled.
I looked at the banner carefully and not only is the scratch in the exact same place, be it the Y axis, but if I follow the line it would, make I can see a slight line under the ink in different spots all the way down the roll...
No, but what I find is that it seems to me unlike you guys in the US, that everyone up here rebrands the products so it becomes hard to figure out just what the heck the real name is.
I used to love printing on Avery Saturn, but it has been discontinued. Funny that Avery discards the products...
no no no , I had not even cut it up to put it into the retractable at this point. Needless to say it is toast. You will notice that both scratches are on the identical line. I can't figure out how I would not have seen that before it rolled itself up..... must be the mice....
All I can get...
I bought a roll of this banner material for retractables and as far as printing goes it looks good. The material is similar to Decolite (not sure of spelling) and it is cheaper and the edges stay fairly straight once in the stand. It is called PET 15oz. It is very heavy I might add and almost...
I have experienced my e-mail going down as well as my web site 3 or 4 times in the last 2 weeks. Is this normal? (obviously not)
How do you guys deal with issues like this? I feel like a prisioner to these people who you can only email to, as only they can call you if they deem it so.
WARNING!!!! DANGER!!!!!! You gonna possibly do damage to your blades. The only machine I know for cutting diamond grade or honeycomb reflective is the Allan Datagraph with the built in heat sealer. Without the sealing I think moisture gets in between the clear and the reflective and will...
yup 3M never tunnels and it is the choice of refelctive, but these kits I am doing required dark blue strips and although you can order 3M slit down, the cost and wait time is to much and to long so I went with the other brand. I would also like to say that 3M by far weeds 10 times easier than...
It's one thing that it can't be recycled. The other issue with backing paper is that it can fill up a garbage container pretty fast so what I do when I have the time is we roll it up tight and keep putting it into a box. Slipping sleeves into each other for compactability and then in a few weeks...
I just did 5 kits for a govt agency and without install (and I have all the artwork ready from previous orders) the cost was $545 a set. Depending on the use of reflective your price does sound low. Remember reflective application MUST be done dry so make sure you have a handle on that aspect as...
I believe if you have an established customer base then you are going to get through this and stay moderately busy.
Getting new business is the challenge as the main customer base may not be ordering as much as in previous years due to economic conditions.
Newer sign and graphic companies...
I agree...cleaning occassionaly is probably the problem. I bet you have ink gummed up on the sides of the heads. I would give it a good 90 minute nozzle wash and really get underneath and clean the sides of the heads. Are you using OEM ink?
