  1. wrapping over a wrap... any specific concerns I should be aware of?

I would not warranty ANYTHING that I couldnt' inspect the paint on. If they insist that you install over the old wrap, then as Fitch stated, they need to sign on a waiver stating that there is no warranty, and that they went against your express professional opinion in the method of installation.
  2. Customers over my shoulder, how can i stop this ?

I am a direct kind of person, so I'm direct. If someone crosses over the boundry between the "customer" space and the "work" space, I ask them in a kind, but firm tone to please go back to the customer area. If they don't take that hint I TELL them to get to the customer area. If THAT doesn't...

  5. How do you do the design process?

And that's why you do NOT DO DESIGN until you have a deposit. If the client has nothing invested on their end, they will devalue any work that you do on your end - plain and simple.
  6. How do you do the design process?

You are approaching things WAY out of kilter. If you are out cold calling, you shouldn't be offering "mock-ups". There are several reasons for this, not the least of which is you are devaluing your design expertise and services. When I am out cold calling, I am not trying to make a sale on the...

I've had to have 3M get involved in maybe 3 or 4 failure issues over the years. The process has been relatively painless, and the question of 3rd party inks has NEVER come up. Also not sure why you would use unmatched lams?
  8. Blackberry versus iphone.

Not even a contest - Iphone, hands down.
  9. How do you do the design process?

We take Mosh's position a bit further even. Unless it is an established customer who I'm not concerned about walking away from a design, we do ABSOLUTELY NO DESIGN WORK until a deposit is in hand. I've been burned too many times, and have spent hundreds of hours doing designs for jobs that...

  12. 1005 Supercast Easy Apply RS

In my career I've probably had 80% of the jobs that I've used Avery on come back with failures of some type. That's bad enough - but the suppliers won't even stand behind this crap - they send you straight to Avery - who also won't stand behind it. My Fellers rep has been trying to get me to...

  16. Is this an encoder strip issue?

Been having this intermittently over the last couple of days. Moving the shop today and tomorrow, and figured this was a good time to get it fixed. Is this caused by a dirty encoder strip? If not, what is it caused by?
  17. COPYRIGHT Logo prints...How is THIS possible?

Nope - you can't get a blanket license for that many competing products. Chances are they were just used without approval.
