I keep my plotter covered too but I use one of my backdrops from my gridwall. Anything you can throw over it will work, towel, sheet, etc. Just make it a habit of putting on at the end of the day.
so in other words, you increase your depth a number of times before replacing your blade. Personally I only increase it once before replacing because I want a really clean cut for fast weeding. Just wondering what others do.
