  1. Ethics 101 Maybe

What I have learned is there will always be competition and there will always be someone cheaper and better...ALWAYS. The guy you put out of business will be replaced by 5 other clowns working from their garage or have the cash from the 401K to subsidize the 20 g loss a year for 10 years instead...
  2. Ethics 101 Maybe

I think you would get more out of this business if you have fun doing it and you get some satisfaction at doing good work.
  3. Dual Core and Quad Core Macs?

Because it is a 4 core (or quad) system by total core amount, not the processors. Apple did call them quad core but in reality they are dual-core, dual-processor when compared to the new quad core processors being made.
  4. Dual Core and Quad Core Macs?

They did call it a quad core system by the way... if that confuses you more.
  5. Dual Core and Quad Core Macs?

Processor: Based on Intel's next-generation Core micro-architecture, the two 2.66 GHz 64-bit dual-core Intel Xeon processors combine both high performance and power efficiency. Augmenting the speed delivered by the processors, the system architecture features 1.33 GHz dual independent front-side...
  6. Dual Core and Quad Core Macs?

    no...
  7. Dual Core and Quad Core Macs?

I'm pretty sure a quad core is a single processor with 4 cores...that model is probably not called a "quad core" but the 2 dual core model.
  8. Dual Core and Quad Core Macs?

Is it 2 dual core? That would not make it a quad-core...just 2 dual core. I don't know if Mac sold a single dual core model back in 2006, but you can buy a single quad-core instead of the 8 core model currently being sold.

  10. Import Vector art to Photoshop

Before reading Day's apology (good form by the way Day-hey, that rhymed) I was thinking that quite a few power users take very little time really getting into the added features of every upgrade and get a little too comfortable using it like an enhanced version 3. I'm still getting used to CS3...

  13. Signs 101 Business Model

Well, being a former moderator of a very large design forum.. it is a thankless job and no amount of compensation would have been enough to endure the few trouble makers me and the other mods had to deal with. I quit it, became a regular member and found a new joy in not knowing the underbelly...
  14. Signs 101 Business Model

There is no or slight similarities, but more examples. I was (and still am i guess) a long time member of both. In Signweb's case the unrestrained bullying and better alternatives of this place and SignForums made it an easy choice to switch. Sign Industrries case is the forum software sucks and...
  15. Signs 101 Business Model

For the average sign maker I'm thinking there has to be more benefits than a forum with re-hashed information, off topic-rants and the occasional newbie slap. As good as this forum is, it's possible to screw it all up.... this seems like a good model...more than a forum but it relies heavily on...
  16. what is this font

Here are a couple of suggestions...brush script would work better is it was tightened up a bit. i like to make the cap bigger and drop it down a bit, but then you have to add an outline to the lower case to fatten the type up a bit... the top is Letterhead Font "Ballpark" the lower one is...

  18. ? clipart use in logo design ?

To add to Fred's comment, a lot clip-art also does not allow use in a products like a t-shirt's that will sell in a retail situation, decals or even signage, some even limit the amount of impressions depending on it's use.
  19. ? clipart use in logo design ?

This is tough because you do not show the image and the logo and many will interpret it different. The other thing is what does your licensing say in your clip-art collection? Basically it is, did you modify it enough to stand up to a side by side comparison? There is no such thing as a...
  20. resizing image

Ahhh...got it Is it in layers? If it's in layers I would at least double the rez, using guides move elements into the 18x24 field and use the crop tool when you are done. If your elements are not in layers it's kinda hard to move things around. I personally suggest doing as much as you can...
