i did not check the humidity, adam, but the way it has been raining, imagine i was printing in borneo during the rainy season
i will bring in the amprobe humidity gun.
i increased heat & reduced fan speed to minimum which MADE IT LESS OBVIOUS.
we don't seem to get this with other materials, vinyl, coro, photo paper
does komatex not have a suitable corona coating (or less of one?) is that why it is generally $5 per sheet cheaper than the other pvc sheets...
i have had 2 instances in the last week, where i get overspray printing on 3 mm white komatex with my mutoh vj1617h.
i have never noticed this before but rarely print on a solid white background, so this would probably not show itself
I would think these are no different than any other electronic circuit
it must be powered by a source that exceeds it's needs
the design of the circuit will limit the current draw
NOT ENOUGH current for proper operation can cause damage, but, it should only draw as
much power as it requires
change captop OR AT LEAST saturate the felt with 91% ispropyl & blot until the alcohol run through the felt (absorbs?)
at this point you can wet the captop with cleaning solution then clean once more
then try to print
the ink is HIGHLY CONDUCTIVE, you really have to be meticulous cleaning after a spill. many times, people don't remove the ink BETWEEN THE CABLES, where the ribbons are stacked. ink has very low surface tension & manages to leach into places you would think were impossible for it to reach
agreed
changing a printhead is routine, EXCEPT WHEN IT ISN'T
even people who have done this dozens will have one of these installs GO SIDEWAYS from time to time
i generally watch ebay/craigslist/offerup/facebook marketplace for whatever model i am looking for (we make out fairly well with the...
didn't you previously say you had 2 machines, and that you suspected the head you were replacing was good?
if that is the case you can make arrangements to have SOMEONE REPUTABLE (like vlad, who developed the printhead doctor machines)
process your head.
don't misunderstand, these chinese...
i will reach out on monday with some of the companies i have gotten used boards from
i still say ebay>ask seller a question will be your best bet
that almost always works for me
everyone who does this has a substantial junk pile
many of the medium sized computer depot repair facilities have hot air stations for repairing these boards
(a few years ago, NVIDIA had a huge problem and 500,000 laptops with their chipsets needed to be flow soldered,
creating a new industry!)
you may be able to find someone "local" to change...
you need to systematically remove loads and find the shorted component/board
order a service manual
or
choose a company to send the board to for repair
(1) inkjet performance in georgia
(2) search for roland circuit board on ebay. find someone offering repair services or selling a fair...
i was given a sample to duplicate from a good client
i took it to be gloss white polystyrene between 0.10-0.20
harbor doesn't have any gloss
is it not made, or does harbor not keep it?
is there a material i can substitute
I WOULD saturate the magenta captop with isopropyl, remove the hose to the captop from the y connector and pull ink through with a tapered syringe (or any syringe you can use)
solventinkjet sells a really nice tapered syringe!
if i am understanding you correctly, it is a very simple answer
AC or DC is not like the choice between vanilla or chocolate
you can only power a transformer with AC. dc on a transformer will only give you smoke and a burned up transformer
DC requires a "chop" or driver circuit and power...
amazon has some PRIME but looks like $94. but 2day shipping
if no cracks, the old one is fine
BE CAREFUL of spilled ink
i use cvs alcohol wipes where cleanup is necessary
