I do cedar signs with this look. Cut a vinyl stencil with the copy pulled out
and apply that to the cedar. Then use a dremel tool and carve the letters. Then
spray dark brown and/or black. Let dry and remove the vinyl. Woodburned look.
I never tell customers how things are produced, in house or not. I think they should just be concerned with the finished product. Letting people know you outsource is not a good idea, they will think they can just skip over you and go to the source.
Back in "the day" I used to do alot of stuff painted with gerber-mask. The key is to not let the paint get cured all the way before pulling the mask, but dry enough to not mess up the paint. Takes some practice. AND painting first surface, the best results are to clear it with serveral coats of...

I have a Seal laminator and I use my BS 50 times more. Stuff under 72" long the BS is a no brainer. BTW I just French Kissed my BS when I saw this post....not that anything is wrong with that...is there?
