dude... IT'S NOT A PRINTER!! ...not sure, but that could be part of the problem if you interchange plotter with printer in your mind... there's gotta be a whole hell of a lot of wrong forks you could be taking by following the word printer in your troubleshooting procedures...

your observing skills could improve a bit... besides the fact that S&F has had an attitude for weeks... he started the cursing in post 19, and later in post 35 made an uneducated, unfounded claim of superiority of his products fade resistance vs. AAG's product. She called the claim BS (not the...

  11. Hey Doug, what's up with the CNC?

yep! I'm pretty damn pleased about the culmination of many many months of anticipation, planning & hard work. I'm thinking of where I want to go much faster than I am able to get there, because I am still behind on all the regular work that was going out the door slower for the last 2...

  14. Mimaki printing wrong colors!

I'd probably try to isolate how much of the problem might be the profile by printing a small sample on a more familiar media. If I could get the right color with a familiar profile/media combination, at least I could hold off on tweaking the file for starters... but if I couldn't, then I might...

if the only thing that still bothers you is the excess area of the image from the internet, which is masked to show as white, but fouling up your .pdf with that white excess... then you just need some bitmap editing tools. I'm assuming you don't have photoshop because I think this solution would...
  17. Start-Up

another :goodpost: ...take those 2 :goodpost:'s together, and what you see is that there is a lot of equipment and accessories required in this industry & a large format printer is one of the last ones, not the first one. Sure, everyone likes the idea of a big brand new machine to outsize the...

  19. installing Vinyl on a flexible banner.

lots of people use soap, and usually one spoonful per quart, but it's not a good idea. Some soap is worse than others, but it all represents a contaminant that could haunt you later. It's best to learn dry application, and this is far easier on banners than it is on cars, windows, aluminum...
  20. Gerber Jetster-Worth Anything?

Gary Wiant, who owns www.4edgetalk.com used to run one in his shop. I know he has a Mimaki now, but I believe he was pretty happy with his Jetster for years. He is in Shippenville PA. Not sure how far that is from you. Anyway, just thought that he may have the knowledge (or software) to help...
