  4. How to remove lettering enamel?

What is the best way to remove old (10+ yrs) lettering enamel from a truck door without damaging the truck's paint? It isn't much, just an underline about 15"x.5".
  5. What's Your Method of Color Registration

We use rectangles, usually about 2"x.5". Sometimes we'll cut the registration mark out (tape, vinyl and backer) of the second layers on bigger graphics to create a "window" to look through.

  9. Raster images print with greenish hue

Castek, Thanks for the advice on trying the vinyl manufactures profile! We use mostly oracal, and have their profiles, but never really noticed any difference when using the oracal profiles instead of rvw profiles before, mostly vector stuff though. So we've always just used the rvw profiles...
  10. Raster images print with greenish hue

I hear what your saying, and it's been something I've wanted to do for a while now, create our own profiles. I know there is a fairly steep learning curve and cost associtated with creating our own profiles. And having never used a custom built profile, it's hard to know if it's worth the...
  11. Raster images print with greenish hue

No option for relative and absolute colorimetric/perceptual in vw. Options are colorimetric, perceptual, absolut, saturation, ink limits... but nothing that says relative. Did a test with raster set to perceptual, it was very slightly brighter but still has a greenish hue.:banghead:
  12. Raster images print with greenish hue

I can change this setting in versaworks for both vector and raster images, so this might work. Currently while using "U.S. Preset" the rendering intent is set to colorimetric for both vector and raster. Going to try changing the intent for rasters to perceptual and see how that works, there...
  13. Raster images print with greenish hue

By rendering intents, do you mean the color management section in versaworks? If so, we print 99% on U.S. Preset, we have used max impact in the past to solve transparency issues. Is there a setting that would help with the dark and greenish raster images? Would the setting have an adverse...
  14. Raster images print with greenish hue

Whenever we print large high res. raster images for wraps or signs, the image always comes out a bit dark and with a greenish hue to it. Printing on a roland xj540 eco sol max ink and we use stock rvw profiles. Over the last few years we have been combating this in many different ways...

  16. Cut vinyl on clear static cling?

Thanks for the replies. No white ink here, roland xj540. For those who tried cut vinyl on static cling, was it cheap calendared vinyl, high performance calendared or cast? Think cast would not shrink? Going to explain the drawbacks to the customer and suggest coro or foamboard signs to hang...
  17. Cut vinyl on clear static cling?

Have a customer wanting clear static clings to advertise sales on there storefront windows. They want to be able to take them down and re use them. I don't think prints on clear material look good at all in windows and shy away from it. But I thought it might work if we overlaid opaque cut...
  18. Edge Lit acrylic sign vendor

Has anybody used Centsible Lighting before? I have a quote for this sign from them and was just wondering if anybody has experience with them.
  19. Edge Lit acrylic sign vendor

It's all text nothing fancy. Business name centered and smaller tagline underneath. The tagline is to be black though. I think it would look best etched and painted black. Business name is to be lit up green. Also the size may be 5'x2' instead of 5'x3' still working that out.
