  1. A Fun Little Fleet

I like how you used the white line as a clean transition between the two businesses. So many people would have just blurred it. You did a good job, and I am glad the client let you do it. That's the best kind of work. Love.....Jill
  2. Nos 1 shot..........

Looks like a regular label to me too. The old ones did have a lead warning. Not sure about the can of Chromatic, that does look older.
  3. CD jacket design

    Bingo! (Ned Ryerson voice)
  4. hole signs

When I do them I make them all a uniform color. If they are paying good they get a logo in one color, if not (usually the case) they get the business name. I find this makes everything equal, just the name written out in a real nice font, everything the same color. Also gives a nice uniform...
  5. ?'s about cutting .060 aluminum with utility knife...

Doug next time if possible just get them cut from your supplier. Mine charges less than $10 and it's well worth it. I have tried the utility knife method but never on that thick of an aluminum. I know I would butcher it beyond repair. Mainframe suggested a neat tool when I posted a question...
  6. Help removing paper from plexiglass

I remember doing that and as a result the next person who calls me for one of those will get referred elsewhere. I was afraid to use paint thinner on mine, so I heated it with a hair dryer NOT a heat gun and peeled a bit at a time. It sucked out loud. I had to do three 4x10 sheets in a cold...
  7. CD jacket design

...now you need to rotate the rear logo so the entire name is readable. I like it much better. I think we had a TV set like that bottom one.
  8. A peek at two new signfonts

No, anyone with half a brain can break the dot apart and just use the middle like I did. hahaha
  9. CD jacket design

Better, I would like to see the logo in a dark dark burgundy and I agree about losing the 3D effect on the name. I'd like to see the name in a bolder font, with a bit of distress, and in a deeper orange Like your own logo first attempt color from the other day.
  10. Olympic signage and Dan Antonelli

I noticed the signs but I am noticing some of the oddball uniforms more. Like the harlequin pants on the one curling team. And how the USA snowboarders look like they are wearing flannels and jeans. And I think if Dan A did the designs, they would have been nicer. :) Love....Jill
  11. A peek at two new signfonts

Steve I have been having fun playing with Layla. It has that nice "retro" look I love and a lot of bounce. I donated this to the Mars Library the other day, it was cut Oracal 651 on a varnished foamcore poster. Just some quickie VectorArt on it too. They will use vinyl to fill in the...
  12. Mural Museum Logo

The "guy" looks like your dad. :) Love.....Jill
  13. CD jacket design

Post #8. Logo on back behind the TVs. In the round area created by the stripes. Make image on front TV black & white. Make stripes burgundy and deep red. Make name in orange. And for the love of God man you need some rabbit ears on top of the back TV stack. hahaha Love....Jill PS Here...
  14. Hand carved, painted sign.

    Charming! Love....Jill
  15. Nos 1 shot..........

I use Ronan now. 1-S Bright red turns the color and texture of a brick after two years. The black is really iffy too. I checked the label but can't see any mention of lead, now that was when 1S was king. I can get either brand quite easily from local suppliers any day of the week. Love....Jill
  16. Favorite Quote from a Customer Today

From an email: And Brian I think I did a sign for that same lady: "But that sign is burgundy and I wanted maroon!"
  17. New Logo Crit

Or maybe use the other "i" in impressive? That might balance it out more, it looks too right-heavy. Completely agree about the drop shadow. Love....Jill
  18. Finally Got My Channel Letters Up!

It looks so nice that it makes your windows look bad. hahaha Glad you are redoing those too. Seriously, makes your shop look professional. Love.....Jill
  19. 1-shot Cleaning Brushes

Just out of curiousity, and assuming the brushes you use are real hair, could you use a regular conditioner (like for people hair) on them? Something you could rinse out with water before using the brush. I had some specialty synthetic brushes for use with latex paint when I was pregnant with...
  20. I.D. please

Reminds me of something from The Fontry But not 100% Love....Jill
