  1. Refilling toner cartridges?

aye, I don't plan on trying to re-use the drum... as I get all I can out of it, as is, by bypassing the expired drum alerts when printing. Now that it won't let me do that anymore, i simply bought a new one, finally. its mainly the toner cartridges that I'm trying to cut corners with. Seems...
  2. Refilling toner cartridges?

Curious if anyone has had any experience with this and some insight to potential pitfalls I should avoid if I do go this route: For half the price of a single toner cartridge replacement, I can have 4 refills and chips to reset my current toner cartridges. That being said, I'm debating...
  3. Armed or Unarmed?

worth attaching to this thread: (elderly woman pulled over in MN with 3 handguns in her possession)
  4. Wacky Onyx size compensation

i'll save ya the time, still had the window opened up on my printer computer :) from onyxtalk forums: With ProductionHouse Closed... 1) Locate the '.Settings.xml' inside your printer folder (ie C:\Onyx10\db\Printers\Roland XC-540) 2) Make a backup of the file (one already exists, but I make...
  5. rolling cut and weeded vinyl

not so much of a memory thing as it is simply to keep your vinyl from tunneling. (lifting from backing in lines across the material)
  6. Wacky Onyx size compensation

missing the 1/4" or was it auto-scaled down 1/4"? if its the latter, my onyx likes to do that too when it thinks I have a shorter material width than I'm trying to make my print on at full scale. i always just lie, and tell my printer its a 63" roll, when I'm really just trying to print 53" on...
  7. Surely the best street painting

    LOL. :goodpost:
  8. Eye One

been shopping around a deal for a while now, and still wary about purchasing these off ebay.... as it is a delicate instrument and having someone else's grubby hands all over it for x.amount of use doesn't turn me on one bit. advantage sign supply let me profile my machine with theirs a while...
  9. Video games?

i NEED to get back into CS! gave it up for FFXI and have been regretting it ever since. MMORPG, although fun in its own way, is a real time-waster. Used to get my kicks outta 2-3 hours of CounterStrike but with FFXI you had to be online and active for 6-8 hours a day to be "l337". LOL. I...
  10. Video games?

oyeah, shoulda mentioned I have Kinect as well :) its a fun time for sure, i just wish that you could control more with it, like NetFlix, and the game selection is slim unless you're shopping for your kids.
  11. Video games?

i have a 360, but i have issues paying the monthly fees for online content when I rarely play at all. Thinking about picking up a PS3, as I've been wanting a Blu-Ray player for a while now and a LOT of my friends play Call of Duty together on the playstation network for FREE! I recently got...
  12. For those of you who love art...

thought this was worth sharing :) (Confetti Death by Miami-based TYPOE, made from shards of spray paint caps)
  13. INK Fill

on my mimaki JV3, you have the option to select 12, 34, or 1234 (as in printhead #'s). BUT I do ink fills all the time on a single head by simply disconnecting the hose above the pump for the channels I don't want to run. I'd imagine you could do the same, no prob. The printer thinks its...
  14. encapsulated laminate print question

aye, you can buy rolls of PSA that you can run through your laminator just like laminating a print. except your product then has another peel-able backing that, once removed, reveals that your print can now be laminated onto another substrate.
  15. Window Decal Question

that's a solvent printer, right? if so, basically any vinyl will work. this topic should really be a question discussed with your supplier, of what options they have for you in a price range you can be happy with.
  16. Desktop Printer For Proofing.

i run a Konica Minolta Magicolor 7450 grafx. LOVE IT! ...shy of the $120 each tonerx4 and imaging units x4, but I only have to replace them after thoudands of prints. But I guess that's why we try to print as little as possible and run most of our presentations via .pdf files. "eco-friendly"...
  17. Floor Graphics

avery has a huge selection of floor-rated overlaminates that meet UL slip-resistance: (haven't use any, but I'm inclined to trust it if it's carried by more than one of my suppliers) Avery DOL 1060(2.1mil cast gloss), 1080(2.1mil cast matte), 2060 (3.1 calendared gloss), 2070(3.1 calendared...
  18. Has anybody used PostCoats?

lumber condoms? paint roller and some Kilz does the trick for me! I just throw some screws on the ends and span a pair or shop horses. takes 15-20min. for me to roll 4 of em, and they're dry in under 1hr.
  19. Floor Graphics

shoot, we used to cut sandblasting mask (25mil) on our plotter just fine back in the day before we started just routing them instead when we picked up our multicam. a 12mil print/lam should be just fine to run through your cutter, my mimaki cg130 isn't anything spectacular. I'd imagine, if...
