to address Bogie and iSign... don't forget your RIP output is going to reinterpert your source image file and reimage the pixels to the printers dpi, so you may be spending alot of time on something you'll never notice.

you're all on it. at 180" long the file size won't be too massive, big but not unwielding. as to "mathmetically size the word", i'm not following you. if you want to see the actual size you can use the "transform" [Crtl+T] and with your "info" pallette open to see the actual width/height.

i think it's related to this file: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator CS2\Support Files\Contents\Windows\System\AdobeFnt09.lst ... but don't hold me to it. i have the same sorting issues on my Adobe CS2 font lists.

not sure in acrobat. i usually crop in illy and save as pdf.

yes, it's a scan (of a print, that was handcut rubylith, prob off of blueline enlargements). i wanted to recreate it to look much more consistant and correct. i may have to redraw, so a basis font would save lots of time.
