ha! i had never noticed that option in Photoshop. if you have a multi-layered file that needs resizing, the layer effects will stay true to the original ppi/size pre-scale. so now, after re-sizing you can select each layer (only 1 at a time in CS2) that are using layer effects and use the...
  2. ...for all you Photoshop experts!

to address Bogie and iSign... don't forget your RIP output is going to reinterpert your source image file and reimage the pixels to the printers dpi, so you may be spending alot of time on something you'll never notice.
  3. ...for all you Photoshop experts!

you're all on it. at 180" long the file size won't be too massive, big but not unwielding. as to "mathmetically size the word", i'm not following you. if you want to see the actual size you can use the "transform" [Crtl+T] and with your "info" pallette open to see the actual width/height.

Bees, re-read my post. Illy is creating a raster image for the dropshadow that includes the background color. if your onyx production manager has a different output profile rendering intent for CMYK vs RGB, then swith them to be the same rendering intent (this is on the 2nd tab in advanced...

  14. Drop shadow "bounding box" printing

it's due to color correction from the RIP output. the newer Adobe drop shadows make raster images that save with the original vector graphics in the file. when the RIP output adds color correction (ICC profiling) some cc's have different color rendering for vector and raster images (as was our...
