  1. Wrap Removal Charge

We send them to a detail shop, he has all the chemicals, and buffers to complete the job, and I fugure that my help's time and mine is better put to use makeing signs.
  2. Daige solo 55", will pay for instruction.

I feel your pain, some have great success with the Diage, we had terrible luck like you, broke down and bought a GBC Titan, while more money it has more than paid for itself in not having any ruined prints, and fast to operate. After I got the Titan, I was going to scrap the Diage, but decided...
  3. Digital signage?

Lots to learn about it, and you need to find the right suspects. I have pitched several different systems to small business, and while the business owners are receptive and intererested when it comes to the $$$ to spend they drop it like a hot potato. Lots of companies in it also, so margins...
  4. Fellers

We have been happy with the service from Fellers, most of it comming from the Seattle area. We use them for the 3M vinyls, and some other items, most delvered next day. As for who answers the the phone, I don't rely on much on any of the sales reps for advice including the "experienced ones"...
  5. plastic gift cards

+1 for Stouse, they can do them and you can resale for about what it costs to make em in house, we have a device to make em, but have never found a market that works for us.
  6. Signcades

We discontinued using PVC due to the temperature extremes we get, warps in the summer, and brittle in the winter. Our solution was to use .040 aluminum to apply prints or cut vinyl, apply with 6 screws to the Signcade. Looks good + lasts = happy customer.
  7. Vector vinyl film from beacon graphics anyone use?

We have been using some of the Vector films for over 5 years and happy with it, now mostly the intermediate grade as we promote the 3M for vehicle and long term signage. Some of the intermediate was used on a window facing south 5 plus years ago and it is still looking good. Only problem we...
  8. I am needing a font chart.

We have a book of fonts that we printed out from our main design computer in a notebook, that when we get out for those that want to see "what we gots". Also have a few on the wall, I would like to have a chart of fonts that had a good selection for customers to choose from. I cleaned up and...
  9. Same print, different text for 1,500

    Thanks, for the help,
  10. Same print, different text for 1,500

I have a potential order of 1500 small digital prints, all the same background, but each one will need a different name on them. Is there a function in Corel (have X4) or Flexi that I can load up the names and it will automaticaly chage the names each time I print? thanks
  11. Exit Strategy for Sign Business

Just had this discussion with my CPA, a very smart fellow and a friend who sold his business recently (not signs). Both said basically the same things, best bet is to show increasing profitabilty over last few years (should be working smarter the longer a business is running ), including having...
  12. Who do you use for Promotional Pens, etc.?

+2 For Hub Pens, good pens, good smooth writing, reasonable. They also are very good and helpfull to work with. We recently ordered in 2,000 for a client and he is very happy with them, we also ordered 1,000 for our use.
  13. chamber of commerce

We have been a COC member for 6 years now, and the only business directly from them was last year when I went in told them I was going to drop them as we had not even got a chance to bid on all the banners, posters, and small signs they do every year. Promised me changes would be made, yep...

  16. DTG printer

If you are not doing sublimation now, I would avoid it, we did that and it was a major PITA, expensive ink, paper, and products with a lot of room for error. We currently do DTG with a Brother 541, we have had a lot of problems/expenses with it. That said it is fairly easy to operate, and...
  17. Laser Engraving and Cutting.

We have an Epilog, now almost 6 years old, and no problems, just wish it ran more! Originally was to do awards and some trophies, scrapped that idea-too many choices here and way too many items to have in inventory. We also did stamps in house for a while, but dropped that, stinks too much and...
  18. Work Orders

I just got thru rewriting the procedures for using our POS program to sell signs, and after reading all this, see I need to revist the work orders we fill out as the customer tells us what they want. Also years ago, think it was Threeputt suggested using different color paper for the work...
