  1. Versaworks IP

Do you have the "Net Tool" software installed as well? You need to have this installed first to assign the IP address.
  2. Does anyone use Google Checkout?

One other point I forgot to mention, when I got hooked up with Google back in 2008, the fees were 2.0% + $.20 and now it's 2.9% + $.30 just like Paypal. So, it was a better deal then, but not sure if it offers much over Paypal now other than the coupon feature which I like to use occasionally.
  3. Does anyone use Google Checkout?

I've been using Google Checkout for a while now, works a lot like Paypal, but maybe a bit more limited in some respects, better in others (can use Coupons with Google). I think it can only be used for online purchases, so bear that in mind if you are wanting to use it for in-person sales.
  4. When buying a used SP-540

That's a GREAT price IF it's been maintained and works properly. I'm selling mine right now for $11,000 with a bulk ink system and have a confirmed offer with final pickup scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday Feb 28th). I feel that mine is in exceptional shape and the price reflects that. Do they...
  5. New member in Washington

Hi Tony, I grew up in Wenatchee and now live over in Arlington. I am amazed at how many sign shops are in Wenatchee, hi-end ones too. I wanted to move our shop back there, but way too much competition for the population. Anyway, WELCOME!
  6. CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X5

There's a much better one offered up at OberonPlace.com, which I think is a freebie. This is the one I use and like it a lot. I believe Alex is one of the Corel developers. He's got some other cool ones there too.
  7. Print Laminate Cut

As long as it printed with the corner crop marks, should not matter what was printed in between. The optical sensor will pick up the marks and adjust for minor skew.
  8. Anyone use this product ?

I am pretty sure this can only be used for profiling your MONITOR, not for making CMYK RIP profiles. For that, you need one of these: http://www.signs101.com/pp-classifieds/for-sale/p233-gretag-macbeth-eyeone-proof-spectrophotometer.html Ooh, couldn't resist :-)

  10. After almost seven years, calling it quits

Thanks so much for all of the kind words and inspiration. We still plan to sell most of the equipment (minus the cutter, Corel and a PC cuz you never know). But, want to sell the printer while it's still worth something. As previously mentioned, GraphixCALC will still be supported, in fact...
  11. Fellers "Gamut" and "Solvex" wrap vinyls

UPDATE...we tried out the "Fellers" brand of CarWrap and laminate. The first wrap was on the new Transit and actually it is holding up just fine, no issues. However, we then wrapped our own truck and that is where we noticed the problems. The adhesive pulls away from the vinyl, leaving...
  12. Offset Inks Versus Solvent Inks Durability

UV is likely the biggest killer, excluding abrasion and chemical attacks...which would be worst w/o laminate. 3-5 is pretty accurate from my perspective, I've got a few things out there w/o laminate that still look good 4+ yrs later (one in particular, W. exposure, temperate climate).
  13. if I were an embroiderer would I want a jpg or eps file?

Confounds me too, as I've had the same request to provide a bitmap image as "preferred" even if they can use the vector format. Dunno why.
  14. "homemade" cnc router

I've been following the MechMate site for a while and would highly recommend digging in there and soaking it all in for a while...TONS of fantastic info there.
  15. Plastic wood look for your signs

Cool idea, thanks for sharing. Do you buy it locally or have it shipped?
  16. Looking at a PrismJet 48 Extra

Jim, are you back at SW?! Must be based on your current signature.
  17. WEB Design Software?

I've been using Netobjects Fusion for a while and like it okay. I'm not a very skilled website designer, but it seems fairly easy to use and plenty capable at the same time. Here are two of my sites built with it. www.graphixtreme.com www.graphixcalc.com
  18. Actual Text Message with new employee.

Hee hee, that's funny right there. Thanks.
  19. how is business so far this year

Pretty dead, that's why we are shutting down! Not sure why that's the case here, when it's clearly not the case elsewhere :-(
  20. Which Cutting Software?

Have been using CoCut Pro for almost 7 years now, I like it.
