If you are an Omega2 user would you replace Omega with SignLab7 ?
Is it my imagination or does SL7 need alot of power to run ? Omega and Flexi 7.5 could run on a P3 with win98SE and 512K RAM. SL7(the demo at least) needs XP and seems sluggish on a 2.6GHz P4 with 1GB RAM.
Keep or sell ? Depends on your customer base - if you can't justify it based on past sales/realistic sales projections , sell it and partner with a good wholesaler. :signs101:
I see - well Omega 2.02 would be quite a step up from the GA. You could upgrade the 1.56 for ~$375 USD to test it out.
If you take digital printing/Edge work out of the equation then a competative upgrade of Flexi Pro(for a larger shop) would be something to consider. For straight vinyl...
Biggest change I like is making the true type fonts easier to use.
Choke/Bleed is still not fixed.
Double cut is a nice feature if you need it.
Pantone colors updated.
Node editing is still hell. They need to work on their user interface (it's still stuck back in the 90's)
Still...
There goes the profit on that job...
Sometimes if the x gap and Y gap make the image bigger and cut off the graphic's edge. This sizing thing seems to be a limitation in SignLab Flexi and Omega. In omega the taking the weed border off (unchecking it ) and going to layout >border in gsplot...
Haven't seen a post here in awhile.
Sometimes I wonder if Scanvec Amiable sees the Edge as a dying technology and will improve FlexiSign 8 to the point where it could be a stand alone solution to driving Gerber's Edge. Even though Edge owners invest alot of $ in their systems they are...
Just make sure you ask tech guy - not the sales guy. The one watch out with Cocout and Corel is that it seems to be memory hungry and unstable. I hope they fixed that. Last time I checked their 'solution' needed some work.
Bob has some extremely good advice there P.J. Also check out SignCraft article "Is your shop a success?" #123 April 2002. :thumb: on some days I've learned there's little you can control except your attitude.
Good idea Gene,
On the old GSX plus they had a place for the blades on the side.
Looks like it's still a good idea for the Envision.
I have to get a pick of the "roll rewinder" handle in here - Al N. posted one a while back.
Hi Gene,
From what I can see you didn't miss much. Cold and bad weather. If you were looking for something specific - edge meet, specific machine etc that's a different case. We often have to travel more than 3-5000 miles for the trade shows so the cost/benefit is often questionable - just a...
Looks OK, but weeding large quantities of those small letters would be a pain - something customers don't seem to appreciate until they have to do it. Looks like it's a one-off this time.
