  1. Flexi 8 (no key needed?)

We have a version of Flexi 8 on the front counter computer that would open sometimes without the key. Discovered when I had taken the key to another computer to work and my wife opened up Flexi up front. Never consistent, but would open on occassion, something strange in the program, not...
  2. Unable to open file

Time to update, had CS2, and over the weekend had a rush job (gota love working all weekend) had to upgrade to CS3 cause the source of the files was CS3, and it was update or lose a big account. As much as it hurts to constantly be upgrading software, you don't really have much choice if you...

  8. What laminators are you using?

We have a 55" Quickmount 3, we were not happy with it for laminating so after a year got the GBC, love it, can run prints thru quickly, and no need for sleds. We use the Quick mount for mounting and works great for that. Hal
  9. Software Tools

We have Corel X3 (just upgraded), CS2 Suite, Flexi 8, and engraving software as well as some speciality programs. We have found that due to files we received that we needed the CS2, and designers work in several programs depending on what they are doing. Also have speciality software programs...
  10. Poster Artist

Any one have or tried this program, it is from Cannon and saw some work done with it from a digital camera and it looked very good. Wondering what all it does. Thanks, Hal
  11. Space for printer setup

Moody, 11 x 11 is going to crowd you, just measured our "normal" working area, we have 2 1/2 feet behind it to change rolls ect., and 11 feet clean in front plust a little walking room, but sometimes have to turn it to print long banners, and vinyl. We print banners 8', 10', 12' and up to 40'...
  12. strange pattern

We had a similar issue a few weeks ago printing on clear, half way thru the roll, unrolled enough to do the job and let it sit for a few hours and then printed ok. Thinking that the roll may have been very tightly wound and had some effect on the vinyl, but no real answers, just like Vid, very...
  13. What the F*()*#$ is wrong with my printer ???

Chad, Please post here what you learn Monday from the techs, in the year and half we have had the roland 540 it has done some strange things, but nothing quite like that. Last issue was skewing of the printing, turned out to be a dirty encoder cable, so we now clean it (carefully!) about once...
  14. Getting Ready to Step Up a Little

Dark, For the difference in price from a smaller printer to the 54inch, go with the larger one. Even if you do not think you will need it, you will be surprised. We print the vast majority of our banners, we up sell the color options over vinyl to our clients, and most printed banners we do...

  17. Laminators

We started with a Diage III quickmount, had to use a sled, very awkward as we finally used 1/4 plex, once we got the hang of it (after a lot of ruined prints) did ok with it. We just recently upgraded to the GBC Titan and like it a lot, and have the tech here tomorrow to check it over and...
  18. Signs 101 Meet

Great idea, voted for some product demos, as always good to get some new ideas from the vendors, but sure don't want the whole day on products. Some place neutral like .... Vantage, lol, Hal
  19. What laminator???

We have a 55inch Diage 3, so we have to use the sled also, we found to get consistent results that a very hard sled was required and use a sheet of plex and a small one for a starter board. We hold the roller down tight to the substrate, or sled and turn the knobs till they touch, then exactly...
  20. sublimation

Dysub is a great resource, we too while interested in doing more of it find it is hard to devote the time to promote it much. We use it for small color signs, name badges, and a few short run T shirts for existing clients. Purchased a used mug press that we do special mugs for customer...
