I feel your pain, we recently had a print head (black) repaced, $600 for just the head, other assorted parts and labor another $500 or so, and custmers ask why it costs so much to do a print!

We have it, and use it for partial as well as full wraps. We do verify all measurements. It does make it nice to show customers what their rig will look like.

We have that problem on occasion with our Roland, we usually clean it and check the wipers to make sure they are not soaked with ink, as for the distortion, the encoder strip is a likely suspect. We very very carefully clean the encoder strip and that cures the problem. Good luck!

We do some posters on poster paper and they turn out well, just did some for Veterans day for the store windows. Check with Art Utica, a merchant member here, he has a number of papers that work well with the versa camm. Can't recall the profile, but we hit quickly.

Have you called Daige? We had similar problems and a part of the problem was the bottom roller. The new ones have a slight crown in the mddle. Our solution was the new roller and using 1/4 plex for sleds. On long prints we needed 3 of us to keep it running, and moving sleds back to front for...

This happend to us last fall, called and asked the tech, he said he had several other shops complain in a short time. Told us to be sure and store our extra cartridges laying down, not on edge. Maybe there was a batch of bad cartridges.

Threeputt, We too run the head in the up position for banners, and on occassion get the ink splatters. We then do a good cleaning and back in business, minus a banner. As for the encoder strip when we got the machine Dan the tech said never, ever touch it, but since we are out in the middle...

We have no sign suppliers locally, closest is 80 or so miles away. We do get some dibond and coroplast from a local plastic supplier, a little higher than the sign suppliers, but local and great service. We consider the guys 80 miles from us as local and it is about a 50/50 split on supplies. Hal
