I've used signtools 3. It's not bad, pretty straight forward to use, adds quick effects to text(outline, inline,different shadow effects). Has other features I'm sure you already read about on their site. It's OK. I would look towards Co-Cut if I had to do over. George

I bought a Null modem adaptor from Radio Shack for $8. I plugged it in my serial port on cutter, attached the supplied cord to the null modem adaptor, and to the serial port on computer. George

Mine cut gibberish the first time I fired it up. I needed a null modem adaptor with a serial setup, that solved the problem for me. That was with Signlab software. George

I recently had similiar problem with my new scanner. I had it turned on before I plugged in my usb cable. Wouldn't work this way. I tried turning it off, plugged in my usb, then turned on scanner and everything worked great. Maybe not the problem, but easy to try, maybe it'll work. George
