  1. Variable ink dot claim by Mimaki

Hmm..Well hard to tell with that pic. It's the orange and yellow and light green that I have issues with.
  2. Variable ink dot claim by Mimaki

    Here's a scan
  3. Variable ink dot claim by Mimaki

720x1440 is the highest resolution profile I've used and that was set up as 12 pass. I get into banding issues when I up the passes from the stock profile with 3M180c. I've also messed around with the density, which helps. Also changing to saturation from perceptual makes a big difference with...
  4. Variable ink dot claim by Mimaki

I hear ya..The tech mostly wants to blame Rasterlink, but the fraustration is come to find out that Rasterlink is not a very well supported RIP with Grimco, go figure. However, I do like a challenge and this is a good one.

  6. CIS and Workforce 1100

    Nice..I'l check them out.
  7. Variable ink dot claim by Mimaki

I see. I guess I'm so use to sublimation printing. Every thing is covered in ink, no matter how close I stick my nose. With wide format the closer my nose gets the grainier, or should I say pixilated?, it gets. My tech says I'm just too picky . Solid colors are actually not to bad...
  8. CIS and Workforce 1100

I use Cobra inks with the refillable carts on two WF1100 printers. I can say it is cost effective, as you do save quite a bit money over oem inks. One thing is if you don't use them daily they will clog a little, but nothing a little head cleaning doesn't fix.
  9. Variable ink dot claim by Mimaki

Mimaki touts this "variable ink dot creating smooth images with out being grainy, even with just 4 color". I don't know I'm really not seeing it. My question is those using rasterlink 5. Are your prints still looking grainy at say a foot or two away? Spot colors look ok, but orange, pink...
  10. Learning Sublimation

Another option if you have a heat press is Plastisol transfers. Then you can use 100% cotton shirts. You would still need to contact a screen printer, but you save on the shirts and time because you can produce your shirts as needed. That is if you do the same designs over and over again. It's...
  11. Learning Sublimation

Nope. It needs to have a lot of polyester in it. 100% polyester for great results. 50/50 looks ok but it will fade due to the ink washing off the cotton fibers.
  12. Learning Sublimation

    Call a screen printer .
  13. Learning Sublimation

lol..been there. I used Rave x4 hair spray on a 100% cotton shirt. Funny thing is it worked. Albeit, kinda crappy looking, but it worked.
  14. Learning Sublimation

They are great inexpensive printers. Epson will sometimes let them go pretty cheap on the website.
  15. Learning Sublimation

I mostly do mugs and beer Steins, but I use a couple of Epson WF1100 printers with cobra ink. The ink is I guess you can say 3rd party and it will sadly clog up if not used almost daily. I buy bulk ink so cost is only a fraction of what you would pay for sawgrass ink. I also use mug wraps and a...
  16. CJV - Tiling for printing AND cutting?

Here's a link to a Youtube vid that might help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbpI7LEjOsk
  17. jv33 and flexi 10

My CJV30 was doing something similar. I ran a "Dot Position Correction" and feed compensation. Fixed it right up. You can also perform the feed compensation while printing, if you see some banding going on.
  18. Profile needed 3M IJ3555

Oopps, that would help. CJV30-130 2x 4 color Rasterlink pro 5sg
  19. Profile needed 3M IJ3555

Any one know where I can find a profile for 3M's IJ3555.
  20. Grainy print on CJV30

Hey Mimaki guys, I'm having grainy print issues with my CJV30-130. I'm using SS21 4 color ink. Rip is rasterlink pro5sg I'm using IJ180c with the correct profile. Dark colors come ok with deep color, but lighter colors are way too grainy. Any insight?
