  1. FINE Y Bi Calibration on Mimaki JV33

I've never bothered with the Fine Y on a JV33. you read it the same as on the JV3, however. If the dotted line is to the left of the solid line, increase the value. If it is to the right, lower the value. If you are using a magnifier that reflects the pattern (i use a cheap magnifier from...
  2. To buy or not to buy?

I've used Flexi with the CJV several times with no issues in ease of use. It is harder to find profiles for flexi, but that is the case with a lot of printers. Print & Cut can be done as: Print only Cut only 2 separate jobs (a print job and then a cut job) hybrid job (prints, then immediately...
  3. Hp third generation latex printers-latex 3000

http://www8.hp.com/us/en/hp-news/press-release.html?id=1419987#.UayPrJxFH1w The Wide Format line are beign renamed the Latex 260 and Latex 280. I didn't see any data referencing upgrades or changes form the previous models.
  4. CET FK zero issues (flat y-base moving around)

Its a sensor issue most likely. the FK is older, so I haven't had any experience with it, but computers typically read data until they find the part they are looking for. in this case, the data would come from an encoder. if it is misreading the encoder it would find the wrong point to start at...
  5. Magnetic sheeting recommendation

Like Mosh said, it's hard to stick magnets to aluminum and plastic. and everyone else is right. Magnum is the best all around magnet.
  6. Ever see a test print like this on a jv3

slider board. i'd splurge for new head cables as well. at least the ones that got ink on them.
  7. Printing On Glass

FYI, CET sells a glass boost primer, which increases adhesion on glass. you have to leave the print for 24 hours to complete the curing process any time you're printing on glass. While the surface is completely dry, there are elements still reacting underneath that film. I've gotten very good...
  8. Printer won't do an Ink Fill after completing Discharge & Wash Function...

What he said. If it's a JV3, you need 8 carts all the time. if it's a JV33, you can search for how to bypass the ink fill up, and do it manually from 4 carts, but it's better to have all 8.
  9. Looking to buy a flat bed

With a 1200/mo contract, it makes the 1 year purchase price more like $210,000. I've never been a huge fan of Oce, but they do have some spectacular quality. If you need it, get it.
  10. CET white ink questions.

The heating element on the head may have come loose. the paste used to glue it on may also have work out, or the thermistor itself may have failed. while not a cheap resolution, replacing the head may be the only way to remedy the situation. I'm sure its possible to fix the head, but it may jsut...
  11. CET white ink questions.

Bump your white head temp to 50, and (if you have the ability to) drop your vacuum by a few tenths on the gantry. The higher heat on the white ink helps it flow better, and lower vacuum allows it to come out of the head easier. watch out on the vacuum though, as too low and it'll start to drip...
  12. Maintenance Station replacement question

turn the machine off. doesn't have to be unplugged, but you have to disconnect the power to the pump motor, so you want it to be turned off. if you turn the printer off when you start, by the time you get the screws out and ar ready to take it apart, the power will be discharged enough.
  13. cheaper 54" a/r materials for race cars?

Oracal 3165RA. meant for box trucks and the like, but it'd probably work well for street stock and modified cars.
  14. If I move to Window$ 8 and Corel 6.x, will my graphtec still work?

http://graphtecamerica.com/support/ there is no information about win8 support for pretty much anything in our industry, but Corel X6 has been supported for a while now.
  15. 26500 prints like **** under 10 pass

passes don't add ink. they don't cost you more money to run. passes don't add ink. they don't cost you more money to run. passes don't add ink. they don't cost you more money to run. passes don't add ink. they don't cost you more money to run. passes don't add ink. they don't cost you more money...
  16. Mimaki VS Roland - Metallic & White Color Inks

all of them are slow. when you switch the mimaki from 4- 6 color, it halves the speed. when you add white or white and silver, it halves the speed again. at that point, you are near 20 sqft/hr. the metallic inks have about 2-3 week outdoor life, due to the fact that it's actual metal and...
  17. Sleipnir

There are images for both. The double set of front legs is always depicted, but not always the rear. Both seem to be accurate.
  18. No Waste ink Tank ERROR Falcoln outdoor

there is a pressure sensor on the bracket that the waste tank sits on. tape it down and you'll be fine, until the waste ink tank overflows :)
  19. Sleipnir

Anything named after Odin's six-legged horse can't be all bad. There should be Huginn and Munnin plugins.
  20. 8 Pass vs 16 Pass etc

pass modes control the amount of ink put down with each pass of the print head. The same profile switched from 4 pass to 8 pass will use no more ink, because the ink restrictions are designed in the profile and resolution settings of the file. That being said, an 8 pass profile may use more ink...
