Have you tried saving it as an eps? ai? or pdf?
saving down pdfx-1a seems to help in these circumstances for me. (*this will flatten your artwork though so make sure you have a copy of the original)
also try down saving to native forms of illustrator ex...
i dealt with GF and had positive experience. They even helped me by guiding me on the right track to icc profile creation on static cling material. That stuff was very "soft" when heated and gave me a couple of head strikes. But they told me to try a higher heat setting to get the ink to...
when i do a nozzle check, some of the nozzles on the test print consistently do not print(even with multiple heavy cleaninings & head cleaning with cleaning cartridges!)

Doesn't matter, issue resolved. Started icc profile from scratch and made sure in characterization the scans were correct and out comes a normal gray.

I am printing on a GS6000 using flexi10 and production manager.
Last week I printed a file with my icc profile we generated back in april and everything looked great. File has transparency issues but were resolved (just saved and flattened with pdf x 1a or saved as ai 8 or 10)
