  2. Jobs are cancelling mid print.

How many computers do you have running all these machines? Are the comps hardline to the printers or are they going through a router of some kind? A little more info on your set-up might help. First thought is a communication error. Now we need to pin point where that is happening within the...
  3. Super tape removal - HELP!!!!

Haha, that's why I used this stuff so that it wouldn't wreck the drywall. It's never been a problem before.
  4. Super tape removal - HELP!!!!

I mounted some prints on sintra for a client a while back. I used super tape to adhere to the wall. You know, the stuff that looks like snot. I've never had a problem with it before. Client just called to complain about the tape ruining the dry wall. So far he has tried heat and fishing...
  5. Good investment?

I find my printer does a pretty good job of matching a colour if I use a pantone swatch in Illy. I can plug in the CMYK values that the pantone book gives me and the colour isn't as good as using the actual pantone swatch.
  6. Good investment?

The question is how picky are your clients? Luckily, mine aren't to bad and I'm usually able to hit (or come pretty close) to specified colours. I won't get into my personal feelings on colour management but if you think about it, you will never get your monitor to match your output from the...
  7. Double-sided solvent paper

I'm not sure, but I think all the blue backs are manufactured by the same company (Johny Red or something or other) and relabelled. Please correct me if I'm wrong. This particular stuff comes from a company called Pony graphics here in Canada. Print quality is ok and dark colours tend to...
  8. Double-sided solvent paper

Not sure what the image would be. Probably something different on both sides though. I'm thinking of printing on blueback paper (it's pretty thin) and than sticking it together.
  9. Double-sided solvent paper

Yeah that's what I figured. This particular application would be a double sided map that would be used on a tv show. I would have to be able to fold it up like a map too. And of course, they would like something thin like a real map would be. I always get a kick out of these "tv" people...
  10. Awesome Building Wrap!

This isn't quite a building wrap but it's pretty damn cool none the less. My buddy owns a company that is heavily into 3D graphics and they have begun doing this same type of work. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=XVTga6GmbGw&vq
  11. Canvas Supplier in Canada?

  12. Double-sided solvent paper

Looked into it a while back and was told it's not for solvent. I'll look into the sihl stuff.
  13. Double-sided solvent paper

I know I've seen it before but can't remember when or where. Can somebody help me out?
  14. New plotter and software pros n cons

I would prefer to be current with new technology and not behind. Plus this upgrade has the potential to eliminate some bottlenecks when things get crazy. Not to mention, I'm not overly impressed with my Rolands cutting capabilities - especially on small stuff. Any one else have some input...
  15. New plotter and software pros n cons

Yes. The Roland is a cutter and I've got an ancient 30" Graphtec. The thing is awesome. Problem is the comp that runs the graphtec died and will be a real PITA to set it up with a new comp. So, I figured why not upgrade the whole system. Plus I could take advantage of a new cutter that is...
  16. New plotter and software pros n cons

Thinking of picking up a Graphtec FC8000-130 (54”) plotter and running it with the Cutting master 2 plugin for Illy. It will be used mostly for cut vinyl and print/cut vinyl off my Roland pro III. Any pros/cons or issues?
  17. 2011 Crown Vic

Ha. I just lettered up 5 crown vics yesterday for a tv show and I still have 1 more to go. Bunch of cabs and a cop car. I don't do the designs, just print/cut and install. Keep in mind that these graphics will most likely be used for a day or two on set and will then be removed so you don't...
  18. Favorite App for IPhone or Droid

Got my iPhone 4S just over a week ago so every app is my favourite app right now. This thing is smoking' fast and just plain works compared to my 3G. But if you have to ask, Angry Birds is pretty fun, until I finish all the levels. But they just keep releasing new levels!!! My SIL made...
