  1. What do you do???

Make sure your client is comparing apples to apples. I've had this happen many times only to find out the the competition is selling them on inferior products and may be cutting corners like not using lam or something like that. Show your client what you are giving him but make him show you...
  2. Anyone have one of these?

As a rule of thumb I use as little tensions where and whenever possible. If I do use tension, it's usually only at about 25%.

  5. Another customer fired....

I get paid to deal with other peoples problems. Bigger the problems, the bigger my bill. My policy is to accommodate my clients as much as humanly possible. In your case, don't you think it would have been wise to extend 30 day credit? Especially given the amount of work they're sending you...

  8. Must have tools for the long term marketing.

Although I don't necessarily agree or disagree with what the OP is saying, I find some of this info does not relate to me and my business at all. Somedays I think that selling cookie cutter items would be great but the fact is, I'm in the business of providing custom solutions for each and...
  9. Vinyl on concrete?

Permanent or temporary? I believe the 3M and Avery concrete vinyls are a little more permanent. Mactac makes a nice one that is fairly temporary and easy to remove.

  11. help! wrinkles laminating

The sweet spot is the middle of the rollers. Don't laminate stuff to one side or the other. Always in the middle. You should use as little tension as possible on all the rollers. I find that feeding a sheet by hand is a little more difficult than feeding of the roll mainly because it's...

On the west coast the following companies recycle roland carts. Not sure about mimaki or others. Proveer - All grahics Supplies - Pony graphics. A little birdy told me that Proveer and AGS bring all the returned carts to Pony as they are the hub for recycling. they do not give you money...

  17. ROLAND INK or THIRD PARTY

Do not switch inks! Unless you have lots of time and money to mess around with all the problems you will have. I wouldn't use a bulk ink system either. Here's what my tech had to say about 3rd party inks. Only use them if they are the only inks to have ever been run through the printer. IE...
  18. GLOSS or MATTE -- The Million Dollar Question

Matt prints so much better than gloss. At least on my XC540. Plus I find gloss is hard to read because of the glare.
  19. What do you give your select customers for the holidays?

Funny this thread should come up because my landlord just came over and gave me a little hand held breathalizer gizmo with his logo on it. Said they where about 12 or 14 bucks. Thought that would be a great gift. For the drinkers of course.
  20. Which grommet setter are you using??

Hiker. Spend a few bucks on nickel plated grommets cause they look a million times better than brass.
