I get this quite often, and if its a Honda civic or something as common I do tell them just to buy a real hood. But in the event that its a rare car the real hoods are very expensive so I work with the customer even if in my opinion wrapping it with a fake pattern is lame.

I rather have 2 layers of vinyl to protect against chips and nicks than a 2 mil layer of just black.

So I decided to go for a different look on my show car. I am going to wrap it in matte black, including the wheels. this thread will be a work log for the process. I ordered Avery A9 EZ in black with matte laminate to see how that goes. My other alternative will be to print my own black...
