  2. Laminating UV Inks?

this dont make any sense. you say no acrylic because it scratches. but vinyl is ok? vinyl is worse than acrylic. do a second surface print on polycarbonate? marabu waterbased and you think that will hold up to the abuse a table gets? peoples elbows/arms will wear off the coating especially...

  8. What to learn before opening my own shop?

Me being a wrapper and also design graphics it is hard for the regular Joe to understand how difficult it is to do the hood on that pickup truck. Your measurements must be perfect and the install must be perfect for the rust to line up with the ridges in the hood perfectly. Very hard. Very Nice.
  9. What to learn before opening my own shop?

Rust is not supposed to shine like gloss paint. A matte lam would have been a better fit.

  13. lamination problem very fogy

correct. slow it down. use a bit more pressure. also tighten the feeder laminate roll so it puts a bit more tension on the lam before it hits the prints. a little bit of heat helps also. not too much though as you dont want to pre-stretch your lam and have curly prints.

try changing your up and down setting on the perf. make it a tighter "micro perf" and slow down the cutter speed.

Broker everything out until you build up a steady client base to support your projected overhead.
  17. could you apply a 2ml vinyl to a wall graphic film?

silver as in chrome or silver as in a grey metallic? chrome laminated will end up grey and lose it's "bling" effect.
  18. Relettering a RV with original how much you sell that ?

RV decal removal will be a huge PITA!!! Tell him if he wants to save some money to get a heat gun some plastic scrapers and scoop up a couple day laborers from the home depot parking lot to get it done cheap. I would never put a fixed amount on removals.
  19. Best way to cut coroplast after printed vinyl is applied

big ben - you might be better off ordering your PVC from a plastics shop where they have a flatbed cutter router. then just order the PVC already cut. this way you dont have to invest in a cutter for just one client.
  20. Best way to cut coroplast after printed vinyl is applied

blades and straight edges? yeah if its a few. If you have 300- 96x48 sheets to cut down to 2x2. hand cutting each one probably isnt the best approach. hes probably stacking 5 sheets in the cutter. use low tack transfer tape on the top one so it doesn't get scratched. only where the blade...
