the border is choking the rest. if your keeping it that thick then you need more inner white space. also the slanted leg looks thicker than the head of the R.

this is one of the worlds eight wonders. no one has been able to say exactly what causes this.
take your scaled up to final print size file EPS and open it in photoshop then save it as a TIFF. use the TIFF to print.
when you finish a roll of laminate you have this roll of backing paper. we load that roll onto the second bottom roll. so when we need to do what you mentioned we just feed some of the backer paper into the laminator by slipping it under the tail of the poster as it goes in.
you might want to use something like Orajet 3951HT. Cast high tack vinyl made for low energy plastics. definitely add a clause to the contract that those areas are not warranted.

clear focus clear lam is absolute garbage. do not use ever for anything. it is pure garbage.

we're on CS5 and it works fine. no reason to upgrade. CS5 has content aware scale and fill. CC is not a quantum leap in features that justifies the expense. at least not for us.
