  1. Sales people and following up

What you have just described it what makes the difference between a "salesperson" and an "order taker". The salesperson called you back, the order takers moved on.
  2. Any ideas for making a good promotion?

I wasn't knocking your idea directly bill, just offering some advice from a guy that hustled those products for years. I just hate seeing people throw good money down the drain. When I was selling them I encouraged people to do just that. Looking back now that I no longer am in that business...
  3. Any ideas for making a good promotion?

While you have many good ideas here for long term strategy. Gino's idea is one of the better short term ones. My approach would be to send out some postcards to your existing client database offering them 15-25% off of any services you offer. Limited time only say 30 days. Exclusions apply...
  4. What files/artwork to give clients?

I have always felt if my customer is looking elsewhere, I have already lost them. That means I failed at doing the job. I didn't provide the product properly, the price was way off, or some other factor. I have only lost a handful of customers over the years. Not one of them was lost because, I...
  5. What files/artwork to give clients?

If you sold them the logo and its their property you give them all the files and the PMS colors. If you didn't "sell" them the logo. Well, there are many school of thought on that. I personally would just hand over the files one way or the other. I have learned that holding a customer hostage...

    any update?
  7. 4'x8' coroplast

Score one side and fold it. This is assuming that you will only be working with one side of the sheet for your project and mounting it. This will not work for applications where it will go on a stake or in a Real Estate Frame. Edit: wanted to ask, why not have it just shipped to you?? Seems...
  8. How to politely ask for deposit before any work is started?

Ask for enough to make it worth your time and, get the client to have some skin in the game. A good rule of thumb is 25-50% of the average price of the project your doing.
  9. Storefront location

As someone who spends a lot of time in the real estate industry when, not making signs. I would suggest if the price is right on the building purchase it. However, don't give up your existing location. Split your operation. Use your high traffic location for the easily produced items & retail...
  10. Logo Design Mockup base on Pat's 10 minute logo

Just want to say up front. This is not for a client in anyway. Just messing around bored and, trying to improve upon my design skills just for my own enjoyment. This is not being sold, given away, etc... It will never see the public eye in anyway other than this site. I have learned a lot since...

  12. Font help needed with this logo

Of course its aids. You think some of my past work was bad. I didn't even do that one. Exactly why I got them to go with Steve C. The clients like the new logo they are getting and it's 1000% better than what they started with. I am printing and not even installing this one. Just collecting my...
  13. Font help needed with this logo

Sure, I don't think Steve would mind me showing off his work. They chose the one in the upper left.
  14. Font help needed with this logo

Just an update! Showed them Steve's designs. They fell in love with them. Steve gave them what I believe to be a more than fair price and they are now purchasing the logo from him directly. So the bad logo will now go to the graveyard where it belongs. Clients are happy, Steve is happy, and I...

  17. Font help needed with this logo

Thanks Guys Hey all Just wanted to say thank you.:thankyou: I know that logo is horrid. Pat's suggestion is very nice. These are your typical "beach" clients though. Selling the dream to people who live no where near one. I sent an email also, over to Steve at signfonts.com. He came up with...
  18. Font help needed with this logo

Client has this logo designed. I didn't do it. They want me to print a window graphic with it. I despise the font. I don't know what it is but, looking at it makes me wanna stab lit cigarettes into my eyes. Please can someone offer some font suggestions. Buying a font is not an issue if I...
  19. Does Business Slowing Down?

Haven't been on in a while. I am slammed. I have had more work than I can keep up with. Albeit not on the same level as many of you, but really doesn't matter. Money is flowing nicely. 20. polo shirts

Get an account with Alpha Shirt, Broder Bros, Sanmar, etc.. They all sell Gildan. BTW Gildan Polos are the worst. They shrink up weird and I am a big Gildan fan. Spend a few bucks extra and get a nice outerbanks. Well, worth it.
