  4. Printing on Roller Blinds

there are bunch of them - built on Epson 9XXX series - 44" machine. I actually built one - or rather converted - my Mutoh RJ 900 into a flatbed - I do a lot of printing on all kind of crap solvent ink won't touch - or won't stick. As to folding - I like it, should give it a try;).
  5. Printing on Roller Blinds

Two things - see if you can fit the fabric trough - if yes, you can always put masking tape on the back side to stiffen the fabric. Second - check if your ink will stick to the fabric - just print a small patch and see what happens. If not, find somebody who has a DTG printer - guess what...
  6. Mounting on plexi

Assuming most sign makers are digital, why not to print on the substrate - clear coat after the fact - get the lamination out of the way completely? I never laminate anything and still manage to get work.
  7. Digital prints onto plexiglass

"i just needed to know if there are any concrete solutions via the laminator to save time and effort. Thanks, Andy" INKAID + any water-based pigment ink will take care of it - forget lamination, print directly on plexi, save the aggravation.:toasting:
  8. Inkjet printing directly on 3/4" thick wood?

thickness of veneer is inside the allowed media thickness for 9700 - you want to go w biggest gap - I actually removed all the vacuum plates from the printer to run even thicker media - you don't need vacuum for heavy materials - and you can control the PF from the driver if there is any banding...
  9. Inkjet printing directly on 3/4" thick wood?

+1 OT. Printing a lot of wood veneer sheets ( 44"x8') on Epson 9700 w no issues whatsoever.
  10. How have you "rigged" it?

It's a bit more involved - moving the motherboard, cutting up some parts, adding some...and some chewing gum to fool the sensors. And a ping-pong table. :toasting:
  11. Printable Vacuformable backlit

two suggestions - maybe three - 1 - print on his material, let him form it after the fact. 2 - 3d sublimation - he'll do the whole thing on the vacuum forming machine. 3- water transfer printing. one of these should work - or maybe all of them. Good luck :toasting:
  12. How have you "rigged" it?

Love this tread...Had this job to do - on a flatbed, but I'm too greedy to sub it or buy one, so I built myself one - from Mutoh RJ 900 - so now I'm a proud owner of a flatbed for a fraction of $$ - and actually have two more to convert - looks like conversion turns into another business in...
  13. Harley fender help

Maybe this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GEYeKRn3r-g Its' not a wrap and it's not a fender, but it works...
  14. 2-sided banner

Does it have to be banner material? I do double sided printing all the time - on rigid materials - dibond, PVC, acrylic, aluminum, wood veneer - PM me if interested - or anybody else, for that matter. Cheers!
  15. Aluminum blanks and magnetic sheets with Epson 7700?

I do print on 24x48 0.032 all the time - place your printer against the wall, let the aluminum rest on the wall as you feed it into the printer - that will take some weight off the springs. These springs are strong enough to scratch the S&^% out of the blank on the back, so you'll be OK. Cheers...
  16. Spitfire (water based ink)

it was a lot of fun...and a lot of work - here it is working: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaqyzyA0aqM&feature=relmfu there are couple of more videos of same. I actually sold this one - already - thinking of turning this (flatbed conversion) into full time business. I feel I could turn pretty...
  17. Print From Photoshop/Illustrator?

Yes to Mutoh RJ 900 and Epson 9**0 - works w both PS and Corel - you're gonna need a lot of RAM - the more the better. There is enough control from windows driver for both printers - even more than enough - and I use Corel to layout multiple images. Cheers, Rubo
  18. Spitfire (water based ink)

SepaiX with no heat Hi boys and girls, I converted two printers to print with SepiaX - Epson 7800 and a Mutoh RJ 900 - I installed the heat strip in my Epson, works like a charm, the Mutoh I couldn't wait to play with ( I turned it into a flatbed) , so I pushed "print" button - and guess what -...
  19. Converting New Epson 7700 to handle Sepiax Ink

I converted my 7800 to print w sepiax. Works like charm. You don't even need 7700 - you don't need the speed, you're going to be printing at low speed - hi res anyway, to allow the media to get warm - there is not much heat required, but still...Just get a used 24" Epson - or wider - any one...
