  1. Estimate Software

you don't need to buy Estimate again, just contact them, they will send you the info to downloading your software again. It's what I had to do.
  2. Non-Compete Question

Non-compete agreements in our industry make sense while the employee is working for you, makes less backroom deals where you pay them to take a customer for themselves. And rightfully so, if it's a sales person who is intimate with a client list only they serve ... a non-compete for a short...
  3. Somebody to create pounce pattern

This. you use your machine with a pen to make the outline you need to ponce. Then, you go over the lines with your ponce tool.
  4. Lame excuses for not getting paid

I had a small supplier call me up one day with a "your account is 125 days past due" ... I immediately said, really, we ordered and paid for supplies 4 times since then, are you sure? ... after 20 minutes of file searching, we got an invoice faxed that we never received ... a backordered item...
  5. Grimco "Thanks for your hard work, your fired"

I don't know ... if someone tells me I need to sign a non-compete or i'm fired ... my first question will be "Where is my employment contract to go with this" which will state my rate of pay, duration, early termination fee, etc etc etc. That is standard business practices, if they don't want...
  6. Commercial location vs home page based shop

Same in this area, though I wouldn't complain about it ... just means you need to beat feet more in the area and do more onsite installs of graphics. I guess that is one nice thing about Amarillo, city is basically a 10 mile by 10 mile square. most everything else is all on the major highways...
  7. Commercial location vs home page based shop

Commercial shops are great, but as others have stated ... come with a unique set of issues. One being overhead, almost every utility for a commercial store front is higher ... Just the breaks. Next being your location, some locations are great for customers to visit you, but not really...
  8. Thanks for the vote of confidence…. but…. i'm just not that good.

Just send them a link to Lynda.com 2 or 3 times pft ... I'm surprised a college level student doesn't know how to look up tutorials online for software.
  9. Cutting issue - camm-1

It's the shops camm-1 servo gx-24. It's not the pinch rollers, they would start to misalign the material, and the material stays perfectly straight. Could be the bearings, but why would the bearings on the roller only affect larger rolls? I almost swear it's the motor, it's almost like it...
  10. Cutting issue - camm-1

Alrighty, using flexi on a camm-1 servo. When I use 24" or larger rolls, my cutting on the y axis (roll feed) movement will drift and miscut. ... and only on the roll feed movement, the side to side x-axis movement isn't affected at all. At first I was thinking my pinch rollers are wearing...
  11. Screw you 3M.

This completely affects the smaller guys. Even the ones who don't do digital printing in house or even do much digitally printed graphics as a whole. When a fleet vehicle has an option of doing something all at one time, or shopping around and hoping someone has a price they like they can do...
  12. give feed back on new logo

    THIS! +1! Good stuff signmaniac!
  13. give feed back on new logo

Of these two that you did, the left one with graphics under it in a bar is much better, your gradient is harsh and irritating to the eyes though, and don't do a bar graphic with skewed elements, never looks right. qmr55's gradient is much better, and graphix45 did some interesting layouts...
  14. New website...

Not too bad for a Wordpress site! I don't have anything specific I would fix ... you'll find those things in time. Kudos on a good looking site.
  15. How do you deal with the badges on the front and rear of a vehicle

If I encounter badges when working on a vehicle, I ask If I can remove them, if they say that is cool ... off they go ... I tell them how to stick them back on and the world is a happy place.
  16. Wow, are new business owners really that naive?

I don't think it was a plead for cheap signs, more I think about it ... this had to be a vanity shop. ... I would give my wife a vanity shop if she wanted one and our bills are paid each month ... only difference ... whatever she wanted to do would have to turn a livable profit margin within 6...
  17. give feed back on new logo

Follow flames suggestion as a starting point. Cutting the bottom 1/3 of your 'KRC' off with a hard to read script with a drop shadow on it is a bad design decision. Just because you can add an effect to a graphics shop logo ... doesn't mean you should. That being said, start over...
  18. Cut Lettering on walls.

Hmm, is it white sided masonite, or like an mdo with a rigid (very thin) laminate? ... or did they paint it? Really, as long as it is glossy-ish and not overly textured you will be fine, 751 oracal will be fine, i probably wouldn't do 951 as it would be a little too thin. if it's inside, you...
  19. Wow, are new business owners really that naive?

Keeping some general information out of it for the person ... just got done talking to someone starting up a retail store ... they have the shop covered as they are parting the store out as a booth system for a monthly fee ... but that income will really only cover the shop and utilities ...
  20. Printable Vinyl For Cricut and Inkjet

just goto that site ... they have decent inkjet vinyl in rolls by the foot and as sheets.
