I agree with bob. We print virtually all of our banners. We charge the same for a one-color digital banner as we would for a one-color cut vinyl banner. We print it because it is much more convenient and cost effective for us. The ink cost is cheaper than vinyl. Plus, there is no cutting...
We print a fantastic bright red with 0/100/100/0. If this is too orange, try adding 1-5% Cyan. Keep in mind that your output relies on printer, inks, rip, media, profiles, etc.!
Joe001 beat me to it. PrimoPDF works better for me than pdf995. Works well with Flexi, and it's free! Great for sending proofs via email and has security settings, etc.
I agree with alot of the suggestions here. I'm also using Flexi to rip. When I want to print a psd, I size it to 72 ppi (for banners and such) or 150 ppi (for close-up viewing) at full size. I flatten the image and save it as a tif, embedding the Adobe RGB profile. I use no compression...
