  1. Gloss Canvas

Another OUTSTANDING supplier of CANVAS products is Aurora Textiles http://www.auroratextile.com/NorthernLights/index.html
  2. laminating perforated Window Graphics

Hey, everybody knows the best glossaries on the WEB are WIKI and GOOGLE. Perhaps the WIKI submission should be, "YUCKY, what is a five letter word describing a customer unwilling to accept the finished work of their Visual Communications Contractor..."
  3. screen color does not match print

Calibration! +1 I HIGHLY recommend the X-Rite end to end solution. You must know at the outset, CALIBRATION requires an investment of time and money.
  4. laminating perforated Window Graphics

LAMINATE! There are a variety of perf vision films available. Make sure you use an OPTICALLY CLEAR laminate. If you do not, then the window will look cloudy and filmy from the inside, rather than like a tinted window.
  5. new UV flatbed

I know this will sound like a broken record (I do not sell any of these printers), but I would encourage you to look at MILANO, CET COLOR, HP, OCE, VUTEK...
  6. Truck wrap vinyl size

Not long term quality issues; but, long term running cost issues. Cold laminates are 2-3 times more expensive than hot/heat assist laminates. On the other hand, a cold laminator is less expensive than a hot/cold laminator. Therefore, you must determine if you want to pay higher running costs or...
  7. SID Triton 83" Eco Solvent printer

Artbot, you are absolutely correct. The Korean printers, specifically the Milano UV printers are splendid machines. The point I was trying to emphasize was patience in the purchase in order to prevent the purchase of a "lemon".
  8. Pricing guide advise please!

OH MY!!!! $17.00 for freight for a 10 yard roll of vinyl, that's over 50% of the cost of the material...ouch!!!!!
  9. SID Triton 83" Eco Solvent printer

Obviously your business volume is moving you to the purchase of a flatbed. Your present equipment is NOT "cheap china brand". Take your time and research the flat beds available from HP, VUTEK, CET COLOR, FLORA, etc and invest in the technology that fits your need and budget.
  10. supplier needed tablecloth

Tablecloth +1 for Creative Banner www.creativebanner.com
  11. Convex Vinyl

Convex! TimandMikki, you will NOT be disappointed with CONVEX. Since you are using a Roland GX24, you need the 60 degree blade and extend the blade in order to compensate for the additional material thickness. By all means, do your test cuts until you are happy with the cut. :thumb:
  12. Roland SolJet SC-500 any good?

daenterpri, I think the $4000 price is fair. artbot has commented recently that the JV3 does require maintenance. However, if you are hesitant to get your hands dirty, then I would not recommend a solvent printer. Since you are familiar with the EDGE, Summa, and Copam, basic maintnenance...
  13. Best Printer for the $

OUTSOURCING...as a profitable business model BigFish, since I started in the distribution business in 1997, I have regularly encouraged customers to OUTSOURCE and bank the profits until the sales volume supports the acqusition of equipment.
  14. JV3 160SP Dumb Question

How's business in BIG SKY Country?
  15. Buy Old Equipment?

I would estimate the NEW (original pri$e) to be about $40,000??? How old is the equipment?
  16. Roland SolJet SC-500 any good?

Fortunately for Mimaki, they rolled out the JV3 with their SS2 inks from the beginning. On the other hand, Roland rolled out the SC500 with one set of "solvent" inks that required coated media. Then, they converted the SC500 to Eco-Sol Max inks. You will find your best VALUE in the Mimaki JV3...
  17. Best Printer for the $

Stay away from the 30" machine. Take a look at your business and you will very quickly realize your average banner is 3X8, therefore a 30" printer will not do the job.
  18. Roland SolJet SC-500 any good?

daenterpri, rather than messing with 5+ year old solvent printing technology, shop for a used Mimaki JV3 or JV33 or a Roland XC540. You will be so much happier
  19. Replacing Colorspan 72 uv

Interesting piece of information to add to the mix, HP has a state of the art demo center in Atlanta.
  20. JV3 160SP Dumb Question

CWP, no question is dumb, unless you don't ask. This forum is awesome; sometimes you just need the manual http://www.mimaki.co.jp/english/download/manual/pdf_sg_e/JV3-160SP_Operation_D200913_V1.5.pdf
