All right, I'll bite ... that is not a disco dancer. that figure is more out of Rent or the 50's zoot suit era than disco ... google is your best friend for reference...
I'm digging it, first and second are doing it for me the most though. (bow chicka bow wow) I would probably go 2 color with it, I can totally see a dark blue and khaki scheme for it.
Seriously, by the time you order that ten signs and sell them for 30 dollars profit ... then wait for them to be made and sent to you ... then deal with the pickup.. we all know how much an 18x24 coroplast blank costs and how much a foot and a half of HP vinyl costs ... I've just beat your...
Crap dude, I charged $60 the other day for an 18x24 one color coroplast. Lowest I went in the past 3 years was $45 each when someone bought 20 sponsor signs that had to all be different names.
I love how you're basing that as a whole ... local basis is the key ... lets take the Amarillo globe news for example ... their advertising this year alone is up 29%. You tell me how as a whole news papers are going under when locally people still pick up their daily to flip through.
Local...
Man! This thread is still going? Dude, getting defensive when people have to reiterate the same stuff post after post is a lot like getting mad because people tell you your logo sucks when it's posted up. Man up, Suck it up and seriously ... it's small jobs that kill your profit margin, after...
Dude, do it! this http://youtu.be/Oa9aWeeY6dc is about the quality of video I can find that even remotely talks about types of materials to use ... and it's not very comprehensive. most just are "look at how awesome I am ... suck it" videos
Well the NFIB as a whole is fine with me, if we had a retail store or internet store that shipped items regularly just being an NFIB member can get my a special rate with fedex (awesome right there since the only thing cheaper is the flat rate boxes from usps ... and you might ship odd shaped...

Alright business 101.
Take your materials (m) and overhead (o) and apply a margin (preset %) and that will be your supply cost (s). (M+O)x%=(s)
Next estimate your man hours (h) and multiply what your cost (c) for that and you will have...
Most I find are old caligraphy books and an article in the now dead sign magazine (the one that merged with wraps magazine) about how to hand letter. I would love to spend time learning from someone again who knows sign painting ... I know enough to get the job done, but not enough to make a...
Only time I do 300 dpi is when I export out a vector banner for a wholesale printer ... even then I expect them to drop the dpi to 150. Otherwise as others have said, 150 is fine.
I swear to all that is unholy, If I get another phone call today or this week (usually 2 a day) asking for a 'donation' to NFIB I will send them elephant poop. http://www.poopsenders.com/
Not only do they not want to send me any sort of paperwork on what they are asking a donation for so I can...
you can use it for just about anything, when you render you set your rendering size ... it will take a long time to render something that is 8k x 10k pixels if you have lots of texture, but that is what a good video card and lots of ram are for.
Newspapers as a whole are dead yes, but local newspapers will still strive. Heck in this area the tv 'news' pretty much reads straight from the paper ... because the local newspaper is the only ones that have reporters still. even then people will still get local news papers not only for local...
Really anyone here can use the software, bryce is great at rendering ... so if you need an actual printed element for a graphics job (like a wrap or just some body wanting 'SICK' racing graphics ... it will work with just a little bit of effort) also hexagon is just a simple modeling program...
