  1. Need Feedback on this Vinyl.

a followup- we're sold on the OC lam... it's inexpensive and high quality. I still havent gotten to use anything else, but we're happy with oracal elsewhere.
  2. police/DEA type business cards???

We use BCE in Clearwater for foil jobs... they should be able to help.
  3. Summer Solstice

It's a signal of the 2nd month of suffering here in Tampa, Fl... so hot and humid...
  4. Intel 2600k with SSD / 16 GB/1600 RAM - sharing my experience for reference

Good numbers! You may have inspired my next build, plus/minus a few small changes.
  5. Vehicle Wraps

oh, lots of learning... lots of failing... personally, i'm self taught with a couple of bits of help here and there. it was a lot more expensive way to do it- back in 2006, bought 20k worth of equipment, went through over 2k in materials waste... but in time, it'll happen. Just do yourself a...
  6. Intel 2600k with SSD / 16 GB/1600 RAM - sharing my experience for reference

what I'd REALLY like to see is you rip one of the panels I printed last week in Flexi 10 so I can see how underpowered my tri-core is :) a simple enough marker, would be your scores from the 'windows experience' dialogue... something a bit more in depth, http://novabench.com/download.php
  7. Vehicle Wraps

That's the truth! Get some help from a local wrapper, and most importantly... buy your materials from someone who already has a printer. You can order exactly what you need (even for practice!) and not have to worry about the initial outlay, plus the learning curve of the print process and...
  8. Intel 2600k with SSD / 16 GB/1600 RAM - sharing my experience for reference

This! I'm about to add a 4th, and I have trouble using my laptop anymore without additional monitors :( Looks like a great setup! Any benchmarks on it?
  9. Who has one of These? Do they work this well?

We were really tempted... but we've been sticking to our HP 6500 with the matching software's built-in OCR. So far, no issues... but I'm still tempted to look into one.
  10. ProxyServers

This is partially true. MIRC is a program, IRC is a protocol. A proxy is a good way to get around upstream controls, however... that's not what he's trying to do. A proxy will NOT 'get' you a static IP address, however will make it appear that you are coming from another address each time you...
  11. ProxyServers

not worth it. paranoia != security. If you're hacking, a proxy is needed. If you're just doing normal, day to day operations... It's not worth the latency. Any "site looking at your info" is reading your cookies, which will be placed and read with or without a proxy. For defending from hackers...
  12. Corel x5 and Mac?

I've got Corel Draw 11 for Mac, it works for everything we need.
  13. Just treated myself to some RAM!

which release? apple icon (top right > about this mac > more info) if it's newer, it's ECC- need the model to figure out the max, should be 64GB.
  14. 3M increasing their pricing

go oracal! we're happy as an all-oracal shop. i've been using them for 12 years, added 3m for wraps for about 6 months... then went all oracal again.
  15. Just treated myself to some RAM!

Look at the specs/manual for your motherboard. I've always been of the 'throw RAM at it' camp for speed problems... it's very cheap now. Congrats!
  16. #$!%^#!$%^#!$^% hate vistaprint

I lose business to them regularly... Then, the clients come back to me. ...and I have to explain that I can't match the price without matching the lack of quality, which I won't do.
  17. Custom stripe on camaro

more often than not, we'll use oracal 970RA.
  18. Display stands.

give speedpress a shot... their shipping is pretty expensive and slow, so take that into account.
  19. Whats everyone doing today?

heading to the shop to finish a wrap, then home for time with the family for the rest of the day.
  20. Best way to remove full vinyl windows

This, unless the customer complains... they're so freaking touchy... this is what we do, with rapid remover... or screen cleaner. believe it or not, rhino screen cleaner works better, faster, with less of the spray.
