My point is that there does not appear to be enough clients looking for quality work to go around these days.....

So out of 100 potential clients, how many are quite happy with "crap" and how many want "quality"?.........Seems to me "quality" sign shop outnumber "quality" clients by a large margin......

Everyone on this board can keep their shops locked up tight but it will do no good.....Between Google, Youtube and manufacturer's sites, everything one needs to learn is out there...

In our area Walmart has plotters.......lol......Just kidding!....But they do have Cricut and Yudu, etc....

Business is up over last year, however, clients are "grinding" as hard as they can.....

There are sure a lot of smart folks on Signs101......Thanks.......

350.00?......Not in my area.....There is a sign at a local truck stop advertising 60.00 (1 colour) to 100.00 (3 colours) for a set of 2 up to 6 square feet installed.....

I often wonder if folks have far more overhead than their sales can support......Do you have lots of space and equipment that does not work 24/7?.....If you do, it is increasingly hard to compete with "niche" suppliers and/or low overhead operations that do not try to be everything to...

8 years ago and $20,000.00 worth of business later I am still doing business with a real estate office that had a mistake on their 1st order of printing from me.....Yes they proofed it.....Yes it was their fault.....Yes I replaced it at my cost.....It was a business decision that worked for...

Supplying stuff like that to a retail outlet in a tough nut to crack.....I usually refer them to www.polypak.ca in Vancouver....They bring them in from China by the container load.....

The problem is not the real estate agent.....It is you because you are letting her be in charge of how you run your business.....Come on Mosh, set her straight......

Is the material not usable on another job?.... In this case it is not about being "right", it is about doing what is best for your business in the future....If this is an otherwise decent client, just suck it up and refund the money....Education has a cost and and you just made a payment....

Maybe the buyer has a "buddy" in the business and the "buddy" came up with specs no one can actually match.....lol...

Have you pondered how many jobs a year will be done in this new space?......Will the jobs you are doing in there carry the overhead or will your other work subsidize this new space?....Sometimes when you calculate it out, as much as your own space is nice, it is far more costly than rented...
