  1. not sure about this one

When graduating blends I have much more success framing it with appropriate colors. Using the building as the FRAME I think is not the optimum. The bottom windows using type that is not as contrasty bothers me. The midpoint of the graduation is different top windows / bottom windows. these...
  2. can a landlord make you use their sign company even if you do signs?

If there are standards to the materials, colors and size - and you as a tenant comply at no cost to the landlord: I would do my own sign and install it. If the landlord complains have them refer to the contract remedies. Jeez what court would render a decision making you pay for a competitor...

  4. Can I Change My Falcon Outdoor Head Myself

xray - we are in the "same boat". Cash on hand I am going to do a refurb that will include the heads and probably ink lines. The air leak issue or clogged line is first for me but my heads are way past salvageable. Considered new printer but can't support payments on uncertain volume...

  9. Way to smooth vectored images all at once?

If the original signature was created on coated stock or non-porous surface with a Sharpie® that has the tip "blunted" then SCAN at 300/600 dpi TIFF then the convert-to-vector will not pixelate anyway. GO LARGE or go HOME jagged.
  10. Cheap wrap company van critique please

Fonts...if they are not Adobe, ITC, Linotype, Agfa or typefaces developed by the MASTERS...avoid them. DO NOT PROMOTE your business using SCHLUB fonts.
  11. Cheap wrap company van critique please

The professor said to us, "If you use the words cheap, budget, affordable, discount...yadayada...you are asking the customers to think less of the product." Sooo...in an industry where we aspire to BUILD profit margins...why tell the customer that you are cheap thus promoting a thought...
  12. Dry-Erase marker on Lam?

Tip: Cleaning Dry Erase boards to almost their original state can usually be accomplished by starting with mineral spirits. Then remove the residual shadows with Ever-Clear (190 proof) or if you know someone who works at an ethanol plant (as I do) you may get some 200 proof which is about 1%...

  14. Intellectual Property and Copyright Theft In Our Industry.

Question: I studied this back in '80...isn't fair use a non-monetary educational or news purpose? Fair use is intended to benefit a group via education, per se. Whereas "trading on" - copyright or trademark - is where even if there is currently no money exchanged, use of the image is used to...

The top area above the contours on an Econoline is NOT 30" tall. Just lettered one and the max height at the rear is under 24" I AM ALWAYS EXTREMELY SUSPICIOUS OF A CUSTOMER I CANNOT SEE especially if they do not have a business address or phone. In my book a GOOD order begins when I see...

  20. I'm in such a rut here....

MPP (my personal preference) top right with diamond plate - subliminal for Briggs and Stratton. Not wild about Letterhead font Mower & Performance but still a good hand lettered look. Try a fresh san serif instead of hand letter for Mower & Performance. Like left column 3rd down with all...
