Thanks everyone for all of your help. I will definitely give it more thought before upgrading operating systems in the future.
I just wanted to let everyone know that I successfully partitioned my hard drive and I am now running Snow Leopard on one partition and Lion on the other. I am once...
I know that Geek Squad SUCKS! They wiped my friends computer by accident. My husband can probably do it, while I probably can too, just chicken. I'll probably do it anyway. Wish me luck! I ordered an external hard drive, so I will be giving this a try in 3-5 days.
I'm scared of partitioning my current hard drive, I'm afraid that even if I back it up, I will mess something up and lose everything. Should I stop being chicken?
Thanks! I am doing this. I don't feel bad about this extra expense, because I needed an external hard drive anyway, but what began as a $30 OS upgrade has sure changed.
$30 for snow leopard
$30 lion
+ adobe cs 5
+ external hard drive
Of course I didn't. Lol. I've never used time machine because I don't have an external hard drive. I need one to do that, right? I also know I should have an external hard drive but it's one of those things... maybe I can get a good deal on one this holiday season.
Thanks! I wish I did not upgrade. I had Leopard and it was a pain to upgrade anyway, because I had to buy a Snow Leopard disk and then download Lion. I don't know what I am going to do without a plotter for 3 months.
Without even thinking I upgraded to Lion. Adobe CS2 is no longer compatible so I upgraded to CS5, but still Graphtec hasn't made Lion compatible plug-ins. Anything I can do while retaining Lion?
** I have discovered that they are working on a compatible plug-in that will release mid November **
Does anyone know if I can cut paper on my Graphtec. I applied transfer tape to the back of my paper so that it would stay in one piece before it is weeded, but it still tears up. I haven't played around with the settings too much... does anyone know if it's possible?
So.. I know you'all aren't too fond of the Silhouette/Cricut people out there.. but I would hope this doesn't bother you :P
I used to be kind of active on the sign forums but I have since changed careers and only do signs on the side and use my plotter for personal crafts and such.. anyway...
Technically just me. My husband helps on signs occasionally and he is my "IT guy." He also does my website.
My mom works marketing for a radio station so when the opportunity arises she does the same for me, so she does have business cards for my company with her name on them.
